Delicious food, great service and atmosphere. Will 100% be back.

First time visit this week. Thought we’d give it a try. Had the whitebait and the tuna tartar to start followed by moules mariniére and frites. Delicious. We have definitely found a little gem!

Very busy, Thursday really is the new Friday. So the fish soup had run out, oh dear. I tried the whitebait instead - wow! The Rolls Royce of whitebait with some kind of ?wholemeal? batter or crumb, generous portion too. Everything else as good as always, and service held up well despite the crazy busy session - which also made for a great atmosphere.

Bones / chewy / not at all enjoyable to eat Asked if everything was okay when plates were being collected Explained the disappointment of the fish on one plate …no apology given just a reply oh okay. Not what I expected …made to feel very uncomfortable for raising the disappointment of the plate It was a Birthday meal for my friend but we could not wait to leave …no other dishes were offered so we paid the bill and left Not the level of service I expected having read such fantastic reviews I was made to feel very dismissive so I will not return or recommend this restaurant as I was hoping I had found a regular restaurant as close to home and fish being a favourite food for me But no even an apology ….where is the service ? Even charged service charge but as I felt very uncomfortable I did not comment at the time but annoyed that I did not challenge the bill based on the extremely poor level of service

Superb and plentiful food - fab service - great atmosphere. Fish taco starter delish. Paella full of taste and couldn’t finish my awesome mussels as the portion was huge!

Booked a meal with friends and was not disappointed. Staff were very friendly. Food was excellent, went for the tapas selection for two and the vegetarian selection for two. Plenty of food and served well.

I eat here most months so I don't review every time; it's always excellent. But had a particularly brilliant fish tartare this evening, a sizeable portion with soy sauce in a beautiful blue bowl. Dover sole was also on the menu this time, perfectly i.e. simply prepared, quite large and, though expensive, as good as you will get anywhere in London and cheaper than most for this inherently costly fish. Great chips too, I usually can't finish all the chips in any restaurant but I did this time. Service and kitchen times held up very well despite a full room on a Friday night.

My partner and I had a wonderful seafood lunch at Matthews and our grilled lobster and seabass main courses were tasty and well presented. We will be back.

Good food, good service

We had a lovely evening, with amazing food and amazing service. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you
