Twilight Kingsway – HolbornWhat a charming place this is. No silly and outrageous prices either, and the food was exactly as you'd get in Italy - down to earth, simple but with great flavour. I can't believe I've been shopping in Harrods all these years and not noticed this little gem sitting right next door. It will be my new regular haunt, whenever I visit Knightsbridge.
Zia Teresa – Chelsea and West BromptonTerrible service! and they give me iranian coins instead of my change, only realised the next day ! unbelievable.. this has not only happened to me but others too now .
Ariana – Bayswater and PaddingtonLike Gilgamesh, but a hundred times cheaper! Excellent quality of food!
Zensai – Camden TownA truly great vegetarian restaurant, even for the meat lovers (you actually won't miss meat at all while savouring e.g. courgette flower or delicious veggie korma). The food is a blend of flavours, amazing combinations featuring root vegetables and wild mushrooms. Try aubergine teriyaki, it's a hit on the menu!! Plus, they serve vegan options. Don't miss it, it's hidden in the church yard! :)
Gate – HammersmithThe Hill remains a great pub with great food - if anything it is even better. They've got rid of some of the fancy bits and the tapas and added some British classics. The week deal [a main and glass of wine for £10] means we go after work quite a lot. Main thing I love is the great wine list. Not over priced [compared to some of the bars in the area] and you can enjoy it on one of the comfy chairs. Atmosphere is always warm and friendly but not so busy you can't have a good chat.
The Hill – North LondonAladdin was recommended to me by a friend. I went there in a group of 10 for my friend’s birthday. Aladdin gave us a big surprise by bringing out a birthday cake for my mate to celebrate. The waiters are extremely friendly and service is great. Atmosphere is buzzing but at the same time romantic for a clam meal for two. The food is mouth watering, hats off to the chef because I was not a big fan of curry but after tasting the curry at Aladdin I have become a huge fan, that's how amazing the food is at Aladdin. I highly recommend Aladdin and definitely will be going back as it's the only place i enjoy the food. I rate Aladdin a 10 out of 10.
Aladdin – East LondonA new level of fine dining!
Zensai – Camden TownI went to Brazas, in Tulse Hill/Brixton, it is a local restaurant. At one point we weren't sure if we'd get a table and it was only 7.30, but we did, which is always a good sign and the staff were very friendly. I had the chorizo for starter which was tasty. Then I had the char grilled sardine salad which was amazing, the sardines and green beans were so fresh and very good value for money. I must say I had very large portions for starters and for mains, which maybe I'm not use to but I did ask for a doggy bag, (and very glad too as it would have been a shame to waste). For pudding I had a warm, melt in the mouth chocolate pudding with raspberries with a lovely ice cream. They also had an excellent choice of wines and soft drinks The only thing i would suggest is maybe reduce the oil used, but this could be me. Apart from that it was a fantastic meal and really good value for money.
Brazas – BrixtonI was rather impressed by the ordering system at Ping Pong, whereby one is given enough time to peruse the menu and then select their dishes by ticking the boxes. The food was piping hot, and as a big fan of Chinese,I found that the dim sum served here was as nice as any I have tried recently at other restaurants. Not bad at all.
Ping Pong – Bayswater and Paddingtonthe food was mmmm...yummy. Service friendly and vodka good! Recommend this restaurant for celebrations or a quiet dinner!
Erebuni – Bayswater and PaddingtonThis place is great for the area is based in food is good clean ambiance and good service will recommend may not be to everyone’s liking but you don’t know until you try .. Give it a go I am confident you won’t be disappointed Thumbs up
Curry Palace – Bayswater and PaddingtonHaving heard alot about Ping Pong I decided to go along with a friend for after work drinks/nibbles. Not feeling particularly hungry what I really liked about it was that the dishes are small (although filling) so you can just have a quick bite if you fancy and you don't feel any pressure to order more. We had a very charming and enthusiastic waiter who couldn't have been more helpful and although a service charge is included on the bill we were more than happy to pay this. Favourite thing here had to be the cocktails.. heard and read many good reports about them and now I see why.. DELICIOUS. If you want a laid back experience in smart surroundings this is a nice place to come.
Ping Pong – SohoGood food, great atmosphere.
Cool Breeze – South LondonI would strongly recommend that any residents or visitors to East Dulwich should give this place a very very wide berth unless they want to be abused. The service is worse than abominable. We were offered one table and we suggested we might sit at another. "No" we were told firmly and pointed to another. The menus were not handed to us but rested against the wall with extreme bad grace. After an inordinate delay the owner finally arrived to take our order. We placed relatively simple orders with the owner including basmati rice and mushroom pilau rice. When the rice was delivered we asked the waitress whether this was mushroom rice. She said it wasn't. I remonstrated with her that we had ordered mushroom pilau. Rather than just accept that a mistake had been made she grumpily left the table and returned with the order sheet and told us in no uncertain terms that we had ordered pilau rice. Eventually the owner arrived with correct rice. I explained how appalled I had been at the waitress's behaviour and that I had not experienced such bad service in any restaurant anywhere in the world. Rather than apologise he just told us we had not ordered mushroom pilau rice but just pilau. Unfortunately nobody at the restaurant appears to have been trained in basic customer service and the customer is always wrong here. When the owner presented the bill he was extremely personally offensive and we quickly paid and left. I indicated that I would never darken the door of this establishment ever again. After we left the owner pursued and further verbally abused us on Lordship Lane and described me as "arseholish". He also rather strangely suggested that we had never been invited to the restaurant in the first place - we had thought the restaurant was open to the public - clearly this is not the case in this peculiar corner of East Dulwich. If there is nowhere else to eat in East Dulwich you might want to risk it but beware of the owner and the staff. This so-called restaurant is trading on its previously good reputation and I strongly urge you to give it a miss. I would add that I am very disappointed to have to write this review having given this restaurant my custom for in excess of ten years.
Tandoori Nights – South LondonThe warm and friendly atmosphere of this Portuguese inspired Deli/restaurant runs deep into the food that is lovingly prepared and served. The portions are healthy and were rustically presented. The chorizo with the sweet plum sauce starter was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious, especially with the char grilled ciabatta bread. I always think that a homemade burger is the making or breaking of a restaurant, and in this case Brazas make theirs with good quality ground beef. It was accompanied by homemade salsa and did not disappoint being cooked to perfection. Unfortunately I was too full for a full dessert as they looked yummy. However, I did have an ice-cream which was delicious, high quality and finished with berries. All in all I would recommend this restaurant to anyone for a tasty night out.
Brazas – BrixtonI went to Bar Vinyl last night, they have a Brazilian snack menu! Me and a couple of friends shared the Brazilian snack platter. It was delicious, reasonably priced and perfect for sharing!
