Real test of Thai in London very cosy and friendly place to visit.. Great food value for money
Addies Thai Cafe – KensingtonWonderful restaurant in good location serving delicious food and friendly waiters made sure we had nice time.
Piccadilly Restaurant – SohoGreat fun! A bit pricey but worth it- stops the wrong kind of crowd coming in! interesting decor- French/holiday feel. Janet was a laugh; I'd definitely be back soon.
Janets Bar – KensingtonThis restaurant brought home the real taste and feeling of Turkey. The atmosphere, live music and belly dancing, made it seem as if we were in Turkey. Excellent, a must place to go.
Efes 2 – FitzroviaI used to go here 3-4 years ago for a period of about 5 years and rated it as one of the best Italian restaurants overall in London. I hope that this situation has not changed, and I will be going again in several weeks and will report here as to what I find. The food was always of a high standard and quality, without being "poncey", and the wine list was one of the best Italians in town, all chosen by the proprietor, Enzo, and covering a broad quality and price range for all pockets. The grappas on offer were stupendous, with many available that you cannot find in the UK, and worth many trips back until you have sampled them all! Service used to be exceptional, not hindered by the bevy of attractive young women mixed with experienced older staff (of both sexes!). Meeting Enzo, the owner, is also quite an experience, as he represents the best of English born Italian origin restaurant entrepreneurs, and he will also bend your ear about the second love in his life (not his wife) - his love of Ferraris, attested to by the photos on the walls. You will always find plenty of beautiful fresh flowers, but always make sure you book upstairs, unless you are a fan of eating in windowless cellars downstairs.
Taberna Etrusca – CityA small restaurant with a warm friendly atmosphere, welcoming staff and authentic-tasting Japanese food, a winning combination. We were really impressed with the quality of the food, particularly the ingenious gyoza maki (vegetarian dumplings wrapped like rolled sushi) and the crunch maki (tempura wrapped like rolled sushi) which we have never come across before. The sashimi was really fresh, well cut and presented beautifully. We will definitely be going back to this little gem. Pretty good value for money too.
Hana Japanese Restaurant – North LondonOne of the best Thai restaurants I've found in London. Charming service and more importantly very tasty food. Try the pad kee mao if you like noodles; the curries are also lovely. And they deliver, brilliant!
Thai Break – Kensingtonis the best tapas in london .
El Molino – North LondonFamily run bistrot style cafe with excellent and authentic North African food - range of unusual starters, Tagines, grilled fish and meat etc. Service (English hostess/Tunisian host) was friendly and efficient, portions very generous with great free nibbles before the starters. Set menu arrangement means a very good deal for two or three courses. We would go again - they also cater for parties, highly recommended.
Adams Cafe – West LondonThis is the best curry restaurant in w7 or w13. they do a wonderful butter chicken and the chef(pushpa) has been cooking Indian food for over 25years. always fresh ingredients used and for a curry nut like myself it is a total delight to have this restaurant round the corner!!
Bawarchi Restaurant – West LondonMore expensive than the many cheap'n'cheerful Italian restaurants around and off the beaten track - so you'll have to make an effort. But well worth that effort. Outstanding food and very friendly, family atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Cosmoba – BloomsburyBest sushi in London. Their sushi beats Nobu any day and I used to dine at Nobu twice a week before Chisou opened. Friendly service and pleasant ambiance. Highly recommended.
Chisou, The – MayfairNice clean place, good food, good music & entertainment. Friendly service, set menu price is £20, for family would be £18. For that you get starters, as much bread as you can eat, meal and desert with tea. Shisha available.
Ariana – Bayswater and PaddingtonWhat a groovy little place. A nice laid back Italian restaurant. This place feels like a real local. We had cocktails in the bar and then great grub in the restaurant. My wife had the sea bass and I went for pizza, really nice!
Locale Fulham – South LondonFantastic food and great cocktails. Really beautiful restaurant and the terrace will be great in the summer.
Locale Fulham – South LondonAglio e Olio is the only Italian restaurant in London where the food I have eaten has remained imprinted on my memory. Believe me, I have tried eating at more well known (and more pricy) restaurants but I have usually departed thinking ?hat? all the fuss about...?? The food at Aglio e Olio remains simple and uncomplicated. To start off I usually have a basket of Italian bread and antipasti. Moving on to main courses, Rigatoni with Broad Beans and Pancetta is my favourite pasta dish on the menu. Finally, your bill will arrive accompanied by a glass of jelly beans!
Aglio E Olio – Chelsea and West Bromptonmybar Bloomsbury was great. The best cocktails ever in the West End, great bar, nice atmosphere. Watch out for the exciting lunch and dinner offers too.
Gail’s Kitchen – BloomsburyWe enjoyed an excellent meal at this neighbourhood Italian restaurant in Battersea. My monkfish was tasty as were my selection of starters selected by our friends. if in this neck of the woods, give it a go!
