Really nice pub, traditional pub food cooked really well. I would recommend the chicken in mushroom and stilton sauce as well as the homemade soup. Very friendly staff. Good beers and soft drink selection.

Friendly welcome, great service and food. Huge portions! We love the inside of the pub and there is a pretty garden. We always look forward to coming here.

Good choice of food , generous portion but roast potatoes were disappointingly soggy. Meat and accompaniment vegetables were excellent though and my wife’s tuna with prawns was excellent

Booked the Chequers Inn believing it to be a different venue, stuck with it and glad we did! Can't fault our experience and will definitely go back! Visiting a venue in shorts during fine 23c weather to be greeted by a Christmas tree upon arrival is surely a winner in anyone's book.

Simply delicious food, beautifully presented, excellent warm and welcoming staff and atomosphere. Sunshine in the garden - it doesn't get any better! Lucky us!

I come over to the checkers pub years ago and had a roast , I was very intrigued to come again and I'm glad I did. Perfect meal sizes , quick timing. Starters were lovely. Staff very friendly and helpful .

We were really looking forward to our lunch at the Chequers Inn (described as a great rest stop for walkers). I booked online in the morning for 1:30 lunch for 4 - a belated 60th birthday celebration with my daughters and husband. We arrived on time and were given menus and told the soup and sandwiches options by pleasant bar staff. After a few minutes my husband went to the bar to order our food and was told by the landlord that the kitchen was closed. When my husband asked how that could be given we had reservations, the landlord started shouting and pointing at him and called him a tw*t! Apparently if you book online on the day you have to call ahead. Ok fair enough but no one mentioned this when we arrived. We were already there, had bought drinks, and just wanted sandwiches! I can’t imagine how we would have been treated if we’d just walked in without booking! The guy was incredibly rude and miserable. He almost ruined our special day but we walked into Lymington and had a wonderful lunch at the King’s Head. We love Lymington and the hospitality is usually so gracious. We will continue to explore but will not be returning to The Chequers Inn.

Lovely meal but, like last time, portions were far far too big . Such a waste of tasty food but a “doggy box” was kindly offered to us to take the whitebait home. Couldn’t do that with the chips though!

Excellent food & very friendly service. Easy to book online, with online confirmation. Have been a couple of times now & would recommend this local pub for the atmosphere & great food.

A lovely early evening meal for 2. The rugby was on and so there was a great atmosphere. The pub was busy enough but not overly so. Our food was tasty and plentiful. The servers were very friendly and smiley. It is the third time we have been here and it certainly won't be our last.

Still provided excellent service and care to our large group on a very busy New Years Day lunch. Traditional pub food here, which was good as always, with great portion sizes and flavour. Thank you.
