We thoroughly enjoyed the high tea we received as a present from my sister. The choice of sandwiches was wide as was that of the dessert items. The service was friendly and prompt. I would certainly recommend a visit to the hall before having tea if you haven't already been. We enjoyed the choice of Charles Trenet and Edith Piaf music as my partner is French. Two points I would bring up-the sign post opposite the department story on the high street was pointing down the high street and not in the direction of the hall so I did a massive detour at that point. I wasn't using satnav as I had already visited the hall. Also as a point of good taste, I think the painted of a beheaded person as one is eating is perhaps not the best choice.
