The food was excellent, but this was let down by the utterly dreadful service.
Portofino – Lytham
Away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, Lytham holds essential ingredients. The Windmill, Lytham Green, Lytham Hall and the River Ribble estuary overlooking the Welsh mountains are all worthy of a postcard. A host of up-market restaurants will tickle your tastebuds.
The food was excellent, but this was let down by the utterly dreadful service.
Portofino – LythamSpago looks fab. Upmarket and sophisticated vibe. Food presented very well and tasted as good. Service very shoddy, bordering on rude. Amazed I had to get out of the way of the waiters and manager , rather than the other way round. Happened twice and that's a first in all the years I have been eating in restaurants. No thanks either.
Spago Lytham – LythamLooking for inspiration on Sugarvine and found the Drunk Buffalo. Well into my burgers and meat and didnt know we had a place like this round here. It's cool and the food was excellent. Others I have spoken to since said it's not as good when it's busy but I didnt find that.
Drunk Buffalo Club – LythamAll in all a very good lunch at the lytham Kitchen. Downstairs was full sadly so we had to sit in the very hot upstairs part of the restaurant. My egg pasta bolognese and my wifes chilli were spot on. Service was good, particulalry from who we assumed was the owner. She checked we were ok and gave our sone some crayons to doodle with. Eton Mess to follow rounded the meal off well. Just the chips were a bit hard. Love the floor to ceiling windows on bothe floors.
The Lytham Kitchen – LythamWe visit regularly for our morning coffee. Staff always happy and jolly with excellent service. Perfectly placed for all day sun in Lytham. Lots of choice of coffee and tea. Excellent snacks and cakes.
Coffee Bean, The – LythamGood food, good prices and excellent customer service, well recommended.
Drunk Buffalo Club – LythamDined at Spago in Lytham over the weekend. The food was good, the service was good, however the booths had terrible leg room. So I will make sure I am seated on the other side of the room if I return.
Spago Lytham – LythamDisappointed to say the least, 2 cocktails that was £16 and was almost all ice, asked for the staters and they arrived with the main course, 2 burgers that was advertised on line was nothing like the pictures, the fries were crisps!! What a load of crap, if there crisps there crisps! Say so not fries! Will never go back unless the company offer me a discount, and that applies to henrys too
Drunk Buffalo Club – LythamVery well appointed but disappointing service. Went in at 4.45 for an early meal, told that meal service did not begin till 5.00. At 5.00, told sorry not till 5.30, then took to after 6.00 to be served. Still waiting for the parmesan that was requested with Risotto. No side dish for emptied shells and broken shells in Seafood linguine sauce. Complaint to Manager was treated with indifference. Lytham local who won't be going back!!!
Spago Lytham – LythamBeen in twice already. love it. It's really busy but I guess that will die down and you can get a table! :)
Spago Lytham – LythamWe all enjoyed our pizzas at the County in Lytham. Good beer too. Much better than it used to be.
County Hotel – LythamMy Wife, mother and I enjoyed breakfast at Capri today. We sat outside in the morning sun. My Eggs Royal was excellent. Everyone else gave the thumbs up too. It's not cheap but worth it.
Capri Grand Cafe and Champagne Bar – LythamSpago is a great new restaurant on the Lytham dining scene. Lovely building, great outside space thay gets the sun till late and the food was yummy!
Spago Lytham – LythamI took 7 of my family to Henrys on a monday night to celebrate a birthday of my son. We were seated in a prime location on one of the leather banquettes. Service was effecient and pleasant from the two ladies. Everyone was impressed with their food, a couple of them felt that the food had improved since their last visit. My ribs were very tasty and melt in the mouth and the burger good, just not as good as the ones upstairs in The Drunk Buffalo. The wines were reasonably priced as well. Will return
Henry’s – LythamOn a recommnedation from Sugarvine, 8 of us from Manchester dined upstairs at Portofino on Saturday the 21st of June. We all loved it. Thanks to all.
Portofino – LythamLovely Tapas restaurant serving a great selection of hot tasty dishes by friendly staff. Will be returning shortly for a repeat!
Vida Tapas and Bistro – LythamEnjoyed my portion of fish and chips from Whelans. A nice touch that they have the floor turfed for the Worl Cup. Glad the takeaway was in paper not those bloody boxes! Keep up the good work.
Whelans – LythamWe really enjoyed our Drunk Buffalo experience last night. Firstly it's a great looking space upstairs at Henry's but I guess they could have made more of the pop up in terms of decorating the space. I was pleased to see a few excellent American craft beers in the fridge, which ties into this hip burger beard thing. The helpful bearded waiter explained all and that orders and payment needs to be made at the bar. The menu which looks similar to SoLita's in Manchester, was short and sweet. I had the Buffalo Burger and the wife the Drunk Buffalo (soaked in Jack Daniels). Both were very tasty, moist and filling. We shared a Buffalo tray which had fries, pulled pork and crispy jalapenos. Prices were reasonable, however I would expect fries included not as an extra payment. It all happend nice and quick too, so a perfect pit stop if you are on the move. We will definitely return and would strongly recommend to others. Normally these hip dining trends take a while to get to leafy Lytham, so well done Henry's for taking the plunge on this!
