Bacchus Restaurant – MacclesfieldI walk with a group that lunches at The Poachers every Wednesday arriving at noon. Numbers vary, yesterday ( 29/10/25) there were 9. I pre-order meals for the group from the 'Lunch - Two Courses Only £14' menu. We have a very good relationship with the staff. Yesterday everything was fine. Pub got reasonably busy after we arrived.

The food was cooked to perfection and the service was excellent, never intrusive We went for my husbands 70th birthday with the family and the staff couldn't have done more to make our evening very special. The food was fantastic unfortunately after the starters and main meal we had no room left for desert, which I'm sure would have been exceptional, maybe next time. The staff were attentive and courteous and the atmosphere was perfect. What was also pleasing was that the bill was reasonable. What more can you ask for?

We were a party of nine and we had the food at the same time. Great pub. Definitely coming again, as we are moving to Bollington next month.
