Excellent meal and service as usual

Used to be regular visitors when we lived in the village and really enjoyed our visits. Fast forward 8 years and Mike and his team still delivering impeccable food and service! Thanks for a great evening and won’t leave it so long before our next visit!

Hi, delightful dining experience !! Mike, remembered us from last year -this our second visit -as Haydock Park racegoers and the ensuing 3 course meal was sumptuous . I'm not a vegetarian but chose the nut roast with asparagus ,and sauteed potato wedges -divine. My friend had the seafood Linguine , also superb . Great choice of wines very fairly priced and we made the right choices . Because the staff are so well chosen and trained the service is relaxed and confident. This creates a chilled dining atmosphere. When it comes to paying the bill it is always less than you think it should be ! Long may it remain so . We will be back in February, thank you everyone . Another excellent Sunday lunch at Bacchus. Service, food and ambience were all amazing. Very good value for money and we just love the Melba toast.

On every visit to this beautiful restaurant it still remains an utter delight . From the moment that you arrive and shown to your table to all of the attentive and polite staff. The Melba toast and gorgeous butter is always a scrumptious whilst awaiting for the starters to arrive!! All of the dishes we ordered were exquisite!and cooked to perfection!! Everything is done with great style and class. Bacchus is a rare bird in a sea of formulaic restaurants and long may it continue . We will look forward to our next visit!!

Simply the best restaurant in the North West. From entering to leaving it is perfect. I would go for the Melba toast alone.

We went to this lovely pub while on a weekend away and the staff were so lovely and welcoming, especially of our dog. He even had some left over beef bits in a bowl. Unfortunately his meal was better than ours. We both ordered the lamb hotpot which was basically a bowl of gravy with a bit of carrot in and some very thin slices of potato on top. On the side was some very grey looking cabbage. I had one piece of lamb in mine, my husband was lucky enough to have three small chunks. Very poor value for money at £16.95. We did make our server aware who as an apology offered us ONE free desert. It was a kind gesture but unfortunately one free dessert between the two of us didn’t make up for the poor meal we had had. It’s a shame because the pub is great and the staff lovely and friendly but definitely need to work on the food. Vegetables and potatoes aren’t expensive so there is no excuse for these to be lacking in a meal. We were considering having our Sunday lunch here the next day until we had this experience so it’s a shame this has put off returning customers.

Bacchus is our favourite restaurant and never fails to impress. Great service, terrific menu and lovely surroundings and also very reasonably priced at lunchtime. Thank you !!

I’m part of a group of retired work colleagues who meet up for lunch every couple of months. 1st time we’d tried this pub but it was lovely. Atmosphere was great and the food excellent we felt really good value for money compared to some places we’ve been. We will definitely return

Visited for Friday lunchtime. Very pleasant restaurant- staff very friendly and service was great. Good menu choices. We went for the set menu which was good value. Food was of a really high standard and really well presented. Definitely recommend.
