Taurus Cafe Bar & Restaurant

Friendly service without the snotty attitude of many of a Canal Street bar. Worth the trek up the street, or a quick one to set you on the way down from the station.

Siam Orchid

Discreete service, food very tasty. Full of diners who were obviously regulars. No wonder it is hard to get a table on a saturday night. Very good value for money. tastes that linger without being overpowering

Siam Orchid – Manchester City Centre
El Rincon

A lovely rustic spanish atmosphere.Great service & good food.Refreshing to hear spanish spoken whilst tucking into paella in Manchester.

El Rincon de Rafa – Manchester City Centre
Dukes 92

Being a sunny day, I fancied lunch al fresco. Dukes sprang to mind. They serve pate and cheese with a big wedge of bread. It filled the spot and it's a nice spot to get filled!

Yang Sing

If you're going for an average chinese then don't bother with Yang Sing because it can offer the regular chinese food but it will be only average and pricey too. If you want Dim Sum, then I can recommend Yang Sing although the Dim Sum menu isn't as varied as you'll find in London, it's certainly different and reasonably priced. You'll find me there for Dim Sum, but for everything it's just too pricey for what you get.

Koh Samui Thai Restaurant

A very nice Thai restaurant which does all the regular dishes plus a few extras. Service is always on the ball, never too much or too little. Thai food is always a little pricey but this ranks at the higher end of the park.

El Rincon

A very spacey restaurant tucked in a back alley off Deansgate. The food offers nice little Tapas' but as with a lot of Tapas, the wallet gets hurt before the stomach gets satisfied.

Dimitri's Tapas Bar & Taverna

We had the vegetarian platter and it was good quality but nothing very different. For the price at £13 pp on a vegetarian meal it was quite expensive for the portions. There are others in Manchester who do it better, in no quite as nice surroundings for less money.

Pearl City Cantonese Restaurant

All I can say is that ANY restaurant that can induce me to climb a veritable Matterhorn of stairs MUST have something about it. The Pearl City certainly has that! It features great dim sum (including, for my money, some of the best cheung fun rice rolls in town!) There's very little to fault here - a good, reliable Chinese! If only they had a lift....

Gaucho Grill

Steaks are fantastic, the best I have had. Even the potato wedges were absolutely superb. Place is too big during the week as there aren't enough people to fill the room so atmosphere isn't great - go when it is busy

Little Yang Sing, The

Recently reopened after extensive refurbishment, and now much larger. The food is still great - possibly the best in Chinatown - with some truly innovative dishes. Really helpful staff, who seem genuinely pleased you're there!

New Emperor, The

The New Emperor is my current favourite. When ever I'm in Manchester for the night, this is the restaurant that I go to. All the meals that I've eaten there have been very good, but I'm still only about 1/5 through the menu! The service is great, there's always someone near to help you and you get service with a smile. The ambience is very good. The restaurant is fairly large, yet when ever I've been (Saturdays) it's always been very busy. The price for the meals is pretty good. It's about the average price for china town, but like I said, the quality of the food is very good. I've got no hesitation in recommending the New Emperor to anyone who likes Chinese food.

Old Sams Chop House

After a days hiking we fancied some traditional british fayre and the Chop House did not disappoint. I had steak and kidney pudding which was truly homemade and delicious! The place is spot on!!

Pacific

The upper restaurant serves Thai dishes that are simply the best in Greater Manchester (from one who has tried the majority of Thai restaurants). Also worth visiting at lunchtime for the buffet which is great value and families are made welcome.

Pacific

Everything about this restaurant, from the exceptional food to the basket of hand towels in the toilets, oozes sophistication. The atmosphere is stylish and comfortable without being pretentious and the service is fabulous. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody, and although the prices are slightly above average, it is a small price to pay for such an enjoyable evening. Thank you!

Koreana

Still a hinden gem, thank God. My favorite restaurant in Manchester. Every birthday/special occasion you'll find me here! Lovely :-)

Koreana – Manchester City Centre
Gaucho Grill

The best ever steak I have ever tasted. I am a chef and this was out of this world! I would gladly eat here every day if I could! A massive steak came along with what looked like a butter knife (unlike the scary steak knives you get in other British places) but, it was cooked to perfection and I think I could have cut the steak up with a spoon! Superb.
