I had a fantastic meal consisting of chicken risotto followed by tiramisu for dessert and a small bottle of rose prosecco to accompany the meal. The service was excellent and the food tasted great. The restaurant was conveniently located close to my hotel and the nearby conference centre.

Great restaurant - my wife and I really enjoyed several courses here and they were all delicious. Indian street food appetisers, grilled meat and fish and a curry - all fantastic. Service was quick, friendly and happy to give advice. Full marks!

First time at Chakalaka and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, first of all the ambience in the place was quite something, greeted by a friendly looking guy who kindly asked where I’d like to seat, the decor def stood out and it was def paying homage to South Africa. I ordered a crème Soda, it was def Lekker! The food itself which was the main reason for going to this restaurant did not disappoint. The curry was lovely only thing I would say is I would have liked it to be hotter (temperature wise) other people that I dined with also enjoyed their meals, The biltong Mac and cheese (this was divine) only shame it was such a small portion (please think about making this Mac and Cheese as a main (it’s delicious) Overall we enjoyed our food, music was cool, Service was good! an enjoyable experience all around. Keep it up!

Best Italian I have been to in years! Sal the manager was so warm and welcoming. He made such a fuss of us and had us laughing the whole time. And the food was to die for! I have not tasted pasta that good since I was in Italy. The chef Rowland is extremely talented!

We had a lovely lunch yesterday at Giorgio’s . The food was very tasty but what made it was the lovely staff who looked after us beautifully !

Been here a few times for the pre theatre menu.Great service, good sized portions for a set menu and food quality excellent.Went as a group of 4 friends and all agreed it was one of the best Italian restaurants in the city centre

Great food - good service Only downside is I booked a good month in advance for 6.30pm … arrived around 6.20pm - only had the pre show menus available - said would need to book after 6.45 to get normal menu .., said that nothing was said at all when I booked .. but guy was having none of it so had to do with the small menu for the pre-show … Shame really as sort of ruined the night for us … as wasn’t going to watch any show …

Came here for a pre-show meal and had a fantastic meal in a restaurant that is just around the corner from the theatre and the train station. We ordered off the theatre menu - insalate caprese, tomato garlic bread, lasagne and risotto all delicious and plentiful portions. The restaurant staff were all so friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. We’ll definitely go back and I highly recommend this restaurant

Pre booked …went on a Saturday evening for my mums birthday meal… was over crowded waiters looked stressed, too loud not enough attention given to make you feel special not even an acknowledgment to my mums birthday. Food ok been previously but would try somewhere else next time that makes you and your party feel special. Need to give the customer a better experience!

First time attending and we loved it. The food was excellent, and reasonably priced, staff were attentive, even while it was very busy. Everyone had a different dish and had no complaints from any of our party.

Four of us ate here and had pre Thwaite menu...great choice,food was fresh and really tasty...staff were so friendly,would absolutely go again

We pre-booked for a Saturday night before a concert at the Bridgewater Hall. The restaurant was full and over booked. We finally got a table, which had originally been a table of four, and was split to make two tables of two. Great that the restaurant accommodated us but we were in the path of the waiting staff so had to contend with people squeezing past our table throughout the meal. Because they were so busy the service was extremely slow. We waited half an hour for our drinks. The food, when it came was fabulous and was not overly expensive. The waiting staff were all friendly and nice. The squashed table and long waits put a dampener on the evening. Will definitely go back when it is a bit quieter, and maybe when there isn't anything on at the Bridgewater Hall.

Lovely meal here on Sat celebrating my daughters 18th birthday, great atmosphere, service and food was really good. The staff were attentive and went out their way to give my daughter a lovely surprise birthday celebration dessert, we will be back. Thank you :)

I always book a table here whenever I'm in Manchester at a show - the pre theatre deal is unbeatable. I had pate and pollo alla crema which was delicious as always and my friend had insalata caprese and the tuna pizza - again she absolutely loved hers. Our wine was delicious, the service friendly and efficient and we will continue to eat here whenever in Manchester - highly recommended

Fantastic place - we had a team meal here, it's a new cuisine for some of my colleagues but everyone tried different dishes and were raving about how good the food was afterwards! A great selection of food and drink to suit everyone's tastes. Fast service and friendly staff. Will definitely return!
