I was really looking forward to this restaurant as a colleague who lives in Manchester recommended it, we were up for the Manchester Marathon this Sunday and were looking froward to a good meal after the race. It probably started ominously when we made the booking initially for 6pm and I emailed to inquire if we could change it to 7pm in case we were delayed from the marathon, no response, so this is usually a bad sign regarding customer service. We ordered two Ukrainian beers to begin with, mine was fine by my friend's had some black pieces floating in the glass. When we brought this to the attention of the waiter, he could see this problem but brought my friend a completely different coloured beer, but insisted that it was the "same beer", we didn't want to be rude and argue the toss with him, my friend got about half way through it then didn't drink the rest. At the end, we asked that this be removed from the bill as this wasn't the beer we had ordered (and the original beer was in a contaminated glass), yet it still appeared on the bill. Because restaurants have had a difficult time with Covid and the impending cost of living crisis, we decided we'd let it slide, but the waiter just blatantly ignored our request. The attitude of both people who served us was surly and unpleasant. We ordered the Armenian "meat banquet" for two, it said it was a mixture of hot and cold starters and a "chef's special" kebab. It all came at once, which we weren't aware of, we thought it was all part of the "starter". The food itself was of good quality, but a complete rip-off - extremely small portions, we were given one piece of bread between two of us, when we asked for another piece of bread we were charged extra. The entire meal came to almost £100 for two of us (we had two beers each, the meal and three additional sides), including service. I live in London but this was extremely expensive for small portions and poor service. When my coat fell off the back of my chair for a second time, the waiter quipped he'd "have to charge me" if it happened again, he was joking, of course, but overall that was the sort of tone of the evening, we both felt ripped off. This restaurant probably does quite good quality Armenian food, but the price, portion size and poor quality service make it one to avoid at all costs, Manchester has far better restaurants than this, it's very poor value for money.

Food was nice service was good. Probably on the expensive side. Unsure if that is the price for the location or not. 6 pound for a bottle of Peroni seems overpriced. The food was nice though and the service was good. Can’t complain if that’s the price that’s the price for the area.

We visited this place for a pre-show meal, the food was good and I would visit again, we were let down by staff not asking us if we wanted a supplementary drink and they were so busy- due to possibly the pre-show guests.

service was lovely as everyone was v kind. we got the bunny chow and it exceeded expectations! the bread melted in your mouth and curry was exceptional will definitely come again

Came for a birthday meal and as always 10/10 food, service and atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend to a friend.

Went for dinner before a show. Great value 2 course menu. Food was lovely, service was friendly and efficient. Would definitely go back.

Had pre theatre menu and it fed us well. Food hot, had plenty of flavour and portions were generous. Drinks not cheap but good range. Does what it says on the tin. Excellent.

Called here Saturday,26-3-22,prior to attending a concert.Food was very nice and portions were good.My partner and I both went for the "early bird" evening menu which had decent choices. What let our experience down here was the pushiness of the serving staff.On several occasions,we were asked if we were ready to move on to our next course,did we want any more drinks,even "Are you ready to pay now?" at least twice whilst we were finishing our drinks!It was getting monotonous! It was as though they were trying to get rid of us to make room for an onslaught of diners,though very few people actually arrived while we were there and the restaurant was,at best, just over half full. The restauraunt itself is decorated in quite a modern style,so if you're looking for traditon,this is probably not the place to find it. It is very clean and comfortable.

My parents came over for the weekend and we were looking for a nice place to have diner. After realizing that every restaurant we checked had already been fully booked, we ultimately ended up at Giorgio. And what a spot of luck that was! The food, the atmosphere, the staff, all just perfect! We loved it so much, we booked another table for the next day! Much recommended.

Had pre theatre menu and it fed us. Food not very hot and lacked flavour and portions on the small side. Drinks were very expensive. It wouldn’t tempt me to go back a la carte.

Great food with Great Cocktails!

This was the 2nd time I’ve been for a meal at the Armenian Taverna. On this occasion it was mid afternoon prior to an evening concert. The food was perfect, I’m a vegetarian and had Mushroom Stroganoff as main course and I’ve got to say it’s the most tasteful I’ve had at any other restaurant. The service cannot be faulted, all the staff from entering to leaving were so attentive and friendly. And summing up the meal we had was excellent value for money. If you’ve not tried true Armenian food, you must visit this wonderful establishment.

Excellent food, fast efficient service. Pre-theatre menu very good value for money. Ideal if you're going to Bridgewater hall. We'll definitely be back
