Excellent beef Sunday roast. Good portion size. Really friendly and attentive service. Will happily return.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFood wass delicious we had the Sunday night deal for Sunday dinner, bed and breakfast. The service was polite and attentive and no request were too much bother. The roast beef was cooked to perfection, gravy delicious and all the vegetables fresh and tasty. Especially good roast potatoes. The breakfast was hot, bacon and sausage again very tasty, poached egg perfectly cooked. My partner had to get away earlier than me and the chef even made him a delicious takeaway bacon sandwich before normal breakfast time was due. So thank you so much for that
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWith its characterful early 17th century exterior, the Wheatsheaf is visually inviting and well worth visiting for a drink and meal. On a busy Friday evening we found service to be prompt, attentive and friendly, and the food - much of it local - very enjoyable.

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe went on Bank Holiday Saturday. The food was lovely but the service was very slow. We booked for 7.15 but didn’t receive our dinner until 8.25. Other later groups were served before us!

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe were recommended the Wheatsheaf by friends and were glad we went. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was good pub food that had a bit more zing! We share are food, swapping plates halfway so we both get to taste the others choice. I ordered fish and chips as were near the sea - a good sized piece of fish, though the chips were a bit less generous, but all delicious with proper homemade tartare sauce to top it off. My husband had the salmon with oriental coleslaw. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the slaw was the zing that lifted it with flavour. Puddings were delicious - apple and blackberry crumble and chocolate brownie, both with vanilla ice cream. The staff oiled the wheels of a good spot by being friendly, attentive and helpful. All in all, I would recommend the Wheatsheaf as a place to go.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeDelicious food in a cosy pub. We pop in here whenever we can. Thank you to all staff.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeGood food and good service, well priced
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeMade a last minute booking for dinner. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very welcoming, and the bar and serving people were welcoming, helpful and professional. The food was excellent, and as the starter was a little too much for me I asked for a takeaway box which my server promptly provided. The main Cheese and steak pie with mash and gravy was also delicious. I was driving and so had an alcohol free beer and their choice of beers was excellent. Overall a very pleasant evening. I will be coming back soon.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeHad a couple of nights here for a family birthday - slight mixup over order but easily & quickly rectified - excellent local beer & fruity rose - pie tasty & salmon delicious - will be more than happy to stay & eat here again ...
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeVisited last Saturday night. A bit disappointed to find some menu items unavailable (presumably sold out) but still a good selection. The food is well cooked, well presented and good value for money and of course being a pub there is a wide choice of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks available. Staff were friendly and cheerful and it’s always nice to see a few dogs in attendance!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent pies as always. Really tasty food and good service.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeA party of 5 of us visited on Wednesday. The food was very nice - a slight issue with my husband’s meal - some of it being cold but this was resolved quickly and they brought him another one . A small point perhaps but all the plates were cold which doesn’t help with food temperature and could easily be resolved. My katsu curry was also very mild - I understand that it is difficult to cater for all tolerances and tastes but a bit more heat would have meant a more authentic dish.
