A double birthday celebration, so expectations were high AND were completely met. If I have a slight criticism, it would be the size of the apple and blackberry crumble portions, a little too big to finish.

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeCalled in for a Sunday lunch on our way home from our caravan. I was a bit earlier than the time I'd booked, but I phoned them and they said they could fix us up with an earlier table. We had the roasted beef Sunday lunch which was fabulous, so tasty. We then had sticky toffee pudding, which was also lovely. I addition it's has a lovely atmosphere and pleasant helpful staff. I'd definitely recommend this place for a meal. We have been here many times before and they have never let us down.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe spent a lovely day& night at this very pleasant pub.The staff were so attentive & made us welcome as soon as we walked through the door, nothing was to much trouble to them. Our dog Jack enjoyed his stay also, there are lovely walks nearby & the food was outstanding in the evening & well what can we say about the breakfast ( has to be our best ever& we have travelled around Britain for years). Once again a big thank you to everyone at the pub/hotel. Ian& Karen
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent service - staff are amazing, fantastic, cheerful and helpful. Food is first class and the ambience is a great balance between being able to have a private conversation and a good pub “background”.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLovely place in a superb and convenient location. The venison stew was perfection. Definitely going ahain
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe have been visiting for several years now and I have always enjoyed the roast beef Sunday lunch and never leave anything on my plate. However, when we visited on Sunday, I was very disappointed with the vegetables. The roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips were hard and the cabbage had a strange taste. I left most of the vegetables. Has there been a change of chef I wonder??
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe visited the Wheatsheaf with 2 friends on Friday 7 November, prior to a visit to the Heron Theatre in Beetham. The welcome was warm as usual and service excellent. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal - 3 of us went for pie of the day and 1 for the cobb salad (always a favourite). There was a very positive comment on the ale as well! Looking forward to returning soon.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFantastic food and service in lovely pub and location. Staff brilliant, building superb and bar very cosy after right good soaking during day. Request for quiet spot for our two dogs accommodated really well too. Chicken pie, beef and two nut-roast Sunday dinners. Thank you very much!

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFantastic food, well presented and served with a smile
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWent for dinner recently double celebration, first the cons, some members of staff could do with a little more trg, a smile and a greeting should be common practice at all stages of the dinning event not just the seating at the table, the red wine should be served at the top end of room temperature for me not the stored temp, dogs do not belong in eating areas my personnel opinion again bars and tap rooms are fine, small details like the serving of the superb morcambe bay shrimps in butter if served in a small container and extracted with a knife to put on the very good bread the butter cannot be melted to liquid if the dish is served in a bowl then liquid butter over the bread is my preffered way. The pros, my wife’s fish and chips were excellent she said, my pie was very good it would have been excellent but there were more button mushrooms than pieces of steak had the ratio been reversed it was 10 out of 10 the pastry was Roux school quality I have not had better, the sauce with the steak and mushrooms was superb, mash perfect. It is a shame we shall not be visiting again because of the dog rule in the dinning area as there is no doubt the chef and kitchen staff are doing a great job the food is very good and it’s our local pub, if you are ok with dogs in the eating area then I would urge you to visit and if you like pie and mash with great pastry then try one.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpePleasant pub serving a good choice of tasty dishes and good beer. Our only reservation was that portion sizes are rather small!
