My wife and I had a lovely meal at Red Mezze on 25th April prior going g to a concert in Newcastle. The food was lovely and fresh, and very tasty. We had the house red wine which was very drinkable! The staff were all very pleasant and efficient. All in all, a great experience, and very good value.

Red Mezze – Newcastle City CentreWe have eaten here many times and the food is always lovely. Unfortunately on this occasion 21st April , the service was really bad. The restaurant had massively overbooked. We managed to get our table ok but it took over an hour and 30 mins to get our food. We were literally just about to walk out when our mains suddenly appeared. I asked 3 times if I could get a rough estimate of waiting time and they couldn’t even tell me. They just kept saying the kitchen was really busy. We saw at least 6 parties of people walk out due to either not getting their food. Or they had booked a table and there were none available for them. Even after they waited for up to 45 mins. It was a match day but we always eat here before the game and never seen anything like this before. Unfortunately we won’t be going back now.
