Birthday meal, lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious. The staff were very attentive. Well worth a visit.

Had a fantastic birthday lunch on Oct 21st. The food was excellent and of a quality that would adorn any high end restaurant. I had the smoked pigeon breast to start and it was very tasty indeed and my only criticism would be it maybe should have been two breasts as one was not quite enough food. I had the duo of lamb for main course and this was exquisite ! I have only been to the hopping hare a couple of times but the food has been excellent.

We regularly come here for Sunday lunch as their roasts are amazing!! Well worth a visit as service great and such a lovely atmosphere. The beef is succulent, the roast potatoes crispy and the cauliflower cheese cheesy! Absolute delicious gravy. The team are so helpful and professional

My son recently moved to Daventry and on our visits to see him we stumbled across this pub. This visit (Sunday 19th October) was the 2nd time we'd visited the establishment. Sunday lunch ( sharing platter for 4) was great. It's presentation was pretty incredible too. We had a great time. Highly recommend the pub!

Excellent food and service as always.

We had a fabulous meal at the Admiral Nelson. The BB King burger, which has blue cheese, the best onion ring I've ever had in my life and two beef patties was a divine! I'm not over egging this, it was delicious. The best of all was the atmosphere in the Nelson and the welcome and service we received.

We have eaten at this restaurant a few times now and it’s always absolutely delicious. The quality of the food is exceptional and the presentation is amazing. The chef and the team are brilliant. The service is great also. Will definitely be going back again.

Held a wake for my mothers funeral here. It was excellent. The staff were lovely, tea/coffee ready for us on arrival, and food buffet laid out promptly. The food was excellent. A nice ambience. I would highly recommend The Hopping Hare. Thank you.

We ate there on a Sunday night, we had fish and chips, venison burger and sea bream - all very good. Staff friendly and professional. My husband wished there were more draught beers on offer.

The service was smooth, the food was delicious, the portions more than enough. Will visit again. Only negative,that the starter wasn't hot enough even though the plate was,the food was only luke warm.

We’ve been to the Admiral Nelson a few times for drinks, lunches and now dinner. Consistently good service and food. They’ve been very accommodating providing a quieter space when we’ve had family visit with hearing issues and when we’ve been with the dog. Good value for money and I look forward to going back again soon!

Always excellent food here and good value. We travel miles to come here. Service not quite so good this time - kept waiting between main course and dessert far too long. Atmosphere totally spoilt by a group of 6 single men who were en route to a rugby match. Loud, noisy, rude and expletive laden conversations drowning us out. No consideration shown to other diners . A half hearted attempt by one waitress to ask them to be quiet went nowhere. When we complained at the end of the meal she simply said we could have moved. For a restaurant of this standard that was poor.

Lovely venue, fantastic food and superb service.

This was recommended to us ,worth the visit down the lane ,excellent for a relaxing drink by the canal a walk along the towpath and a place full of history. Meals and service was excellent have now been a few times and ready to return again.
