The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonMy friends and I really enjoyed our fish and chips on Friday night and the lemon cheese cake was the best ever! Our table was in a good position too as we could talk and enjoy our meal as we only meet up every 5 or 6 weeks. ( so plenty to chat about ). Well done Admiral Nelson !
The Admiral Nelson – DaventryThe afternoon tea was amazing, Quality, Quantity and taste was outstanding. Lovely environment and the staff was very pleasant
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonBeautiful meal as always.Love this place.Great food and lovely staff .
The Admiral Nelson – DaventryThe food is a very good standard. The Keral cauliflower curry could have been a bigger portion. The ham and eggs was excellent. Both of us enjoyed our meals.Banoffee pie was great.
The Admiral Nelson – DaventryFood and service was excellent, will definetely be coming back. Belly pork and crackling amazing. Roast potatoes very tasty, carrots just needed a couple more minutes
The Admiral Nelson – DaventryWe were a party of 5 for my daughters birthday and went to Admiral Nelson for Sunday Lunch. The pub was busy. Food we noticed looked good. Our roast beef was generously portioned and had a good texture and flavour, The potatoes and vegetables were good. The pork belly was also good and well portioned. Desserts we had were ok, bit expensive we thought. We ordered extra cauli/broccoli cheese also good. The extra potion of roast potatoes was a little mean for the money, the pigs in blankets were tiny, both of them, in a yorkshire pud with gravy poor value we thought. Lovely beef, excellent beer and good service on a busy day so all in all a good deal . Not expensive for what we had we all thought it was good. We would go back again if we lived nearer.
The Admiral Nelson – DaventryIt’s was our first visit to the Hopping Hare. We went to ‘Check it out’ for a birthday celebration. Our meal was booked for 3pm. (Sunday) The food was very good, unfortunately the Yorkshire puddings were burnt. The service very good. Our waitresses very pleasant, smiling and chatty. Our table for 2 was up against a dark wall, along with other tables for 2. We felt ‘out of the way. The rest of the tables for 4 were in a much nicer part of the restaurant. Light and airy, surrounded by the front windows, a much lighter, pleasanter area. When we made enquiries about our celebration meal, especially where we and our guests would be seated, we were taken to an area at the back of the restaurant. Quite basic, no atmosphere. We were given 2 times to have our celebration meal. 12 o’clock or 3pm. Neither were suitable for us as we had guests travelling. I would visit again but would prefer to be seated in another area.
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonA fabulous lunch; really great food and very good value for money. The staff were excellent - although they were a little understaffed the day we were there which meant a long wait at the bar - but the staff themselves were helpful, pleasant and cheerful (particularly considering they were obviously under pressure given they were stretched).
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonGreat family meal. Very fussy children and hugely happy with choices. Staff great, understanding, helpful, quick. Loved our adults choices too

The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonArrived slightly early and got some drinks and browsed the menu in the garden. Our table in the restaurant felt light and airy and the food was fantastic. The roast sirloin of beef on bank holiday Monday was melt in your mouth delicious. Sarah was one of our contacts during our drinks and meal and she was brilliant. A lovely way to spend a bank holiday Monday afternoon
