Called in last Sunday and we hadn't booked but they managed to find us a table for two upstairs. Had their sunday lunch and a bottle of pressecco. Lunch was the best I have had in a good while (even beats mine and I think mine is good). Well done chef you did a wonderful job. Definitely worth another visit soon but will definitely book in advance, just in case we are disappointed at not getting another meal like that... yummeeeeeeeee

I can't believe it's 2 yrs since the last review of this superb venue, which allows you to park right outside the door for free (It's £6 one mile away in chinatown + trying to find a parking spot, errr, no contest) There was a special 50% off banquet for £13.50, which included crispy shredded duck & about 5 main courses as there were 4 of us (NOT available at the moment Dec2011-Jan2012) but we will be returning anyway this month. Staff/Venue/Location/Value for money all superb. The bonus in the day is that you can also spend some time wondering around the isles of the Wing Yip Supermarket on the ground floor, again highly recommended. Go on, make an afternoon of it, we did & we will be doing it again...

I have been to Oklahome twice. The first time I was very impressed with the shop itself and also ordered some food to take away: sweet potato with lentils. Although it wasn't cheap, it was a good size potato and the topping was really nice. So I went again. After spending £30 in the shop I went to get a sweet potato with goats cheese and roasted vegetables to find out that the price had gone up and it was now £5.50!! I still got the potato but to my disappointment it was a lot smaller and the vegetables were not well cooked so it was a very disappointing and expensive lunch! The guy at the till wasn't particularly nice either... It is a shame as I love the concept of the shop but you don't get value for money with their food and for the price they should really try to work on their service.

Only to recommend somewhere different! Waited 20 mins at a table - no service offered, not even 'someone will be with you shortly! '-wasn't even busy at lunch time.

I came with a group of 12 teachers over a week ago. Was pleasantly surprised with my delicious pizza, and everyone was full with their servings. Ooo the sweet caramel was great. I'm awaiting confirmation by yourselves for another reservation on Monday, June 13 with more friends.

On reading about the restaurant's accolade as best Chinese, I booked for Valentine. My partner and I had dishes from one of the set menus and cannot for the life of us understand how this restaurant won any awards whatsoever. There are 100% better restaurants in Chinatown. We were bitterly disappointed and felt let down. Surely quality should not be compromised by ordering from the set menu? This is one Chinese restaurant we won't be returning to again.

This was one of the worst dining experiences we have had EVER. Yes, the restaurant looks lovely and a really mouthwatering menu but all of that means nothing if the service is slow and surly. Our pizza's took almost 45 mins to arrive (the restaurant was almost empty). When they did arrive the pizzas were undercooked and mediocre. A couple of our party opted for the non dairy cheese on their pizzas and while I admire a pizza establishment who can offer a non dairy alternative - the 'cheese' was inedible and had an odd bodily odour. Our waiter was mono-syllabic and hid from us when we tried to get his attention - I finally had to go to him in order to find out if our pizzas were coming or not. Did we catch Dough on a bad day? perhaps, though walking back to the car we realised how empty it was compared to other eateries in the area - obviously the locals knew something we didn't.

A great place to eat, especially for vegan/vegetarians! I have a youngster too, who found the quirky decor stimulating, could choose nutritious food as well as a treat or two off the extensive menu! The shop also is great for children, and the child in the adult!

It's a fun night, though more about quantity than subtlety. A buffet of 'sides' and spuds is accompanied by a slice after slice of MEAT. Beef, chicken, pork lamb, they ALL arrive on your plate in steady small quantities delivered by a man with a big skewer. No tasty sauces, this is a BBQ and ketchup place but amusing for all that.

Just outside the city centre in the Northern Quarter, this venue ticks all the boxes. Relaxed chilled out atmosphere, homemade delicious Vegan food, great range of drinks & smoothies, very reasonably priced. Just make sure you leave some room for the desserts!

This is an outstanding restaurants. I've been a couple of times and each time I'm not disappointed. Last time i went was yesterday (18/06/10) and the place was empty and i have no idea why!!!! Me and my friend both had the steak and chips. We had a chose of sauces, we chose pepper corn and after a VERY short wait the food arrived. IT WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL STEAK I'VE EVER HAD ANYWHERE! Even the chips cooked perfectly, lot of places can't do really good chips but they did. We got a huge mushroom and a whole tomato, not half a whole tomato. The meal was worth more than what i paid for it. Can i give it more than 5 stars?

A group of us went to this restaurant to celebrate a friends birthday. I was anticipating an all singing, all dancing venue at the price of £25 per person. Instead I was very disappointed with the set up. Basically you choose your sides of salads, vegetables and stews from a small buffet counter, and as you are eating, a waiter will float round with a different type of meat each time, on a skewer and carve it in front of you. This way you get to try a piece of various meats including lamb, chicken, beef, pork and prawns.... All the meats are cooked over a barbecue type grill - similar to that of a rotisserie set up. The first couple of pieces of meat tasted delicious, and the outlook was promising.... however, by the time we got the 4th piece of meat and thereafter, everything tasted extremely salty, it was like the grill chef (or rather the skewer controller) decided that there was an overspill of salt and felt that it needed to be used! I left almost half of each piece of meat offered, and my plate ended up looking like I did not touch my food! I paid for my teenage daughter (which was not discounted) and myself, and it came to over £70!! The last time I paid these prices was at a Michelin restaurant for a THREE course meal! Needless to say that the experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. The frustrating thing is that I left feeling rather unsatisfied, extremely thirsty, and a very empty pocket! Unless you like salt, I would not recommend anyone to come here... If you are willing to pay the price of over £30 which I often am, then go to a decent restaurant, that serves good quality food and get a 3 course meal!! Drinks included!
