I ate in here with my girlfriend and some friends couple of weeks ago, food was very good and reasonably priced. Selected from the set menu, good choice for under a tenner!! Not sure i'd go back after seeing the toilets though!!

I was looking for somewhere to fulfill my need for spice that also looked after the tame veggie! Mission accomplished! We were accompanied down Oldham Street by riot police (that's another story though) and had to ring the bell to get in. That was the easy bit of the evening - deciding on what to eat really perplexed me - it all sounded so good on the menu. Although it was Saturday night, we were early & managed to get a £12.95 deal for starter, main course and accompaniment. We were a party of five, but all managed to find something different, which is a good sign on a limited fixed choice menu. Yup, even tame veggie. The food was delicious, spicy and subtle at the same time. I had a Nyonya lime curry with chicken... oh no, my mouth's watering again at the memory. Only one of us managed a dessert which was an amazing looking green thing with ice cream. It definitely tasted better than it looked! There's a small but interesting selection of wines & beers, including Hanoi & Beer Lao. That was our first visit, but not the last.

Went for lunch at Earth Vegetarian Cafe and Juice Bar last week. Only one word to describe it - FANTASTIC. Gorgeous food, lovely venue and beautiful friendly staff. The Vegan Cheesecake is to die for. Keep up the good work guys. xxx

Lovely decor and friendly staff, the food was a little disappointing compared to Chaophraya.

Have been to this restaurant a couple of times now and have enjoyed both meal experiences. From booking the table to paying the bill the staff are excellent and and cant do enough for you and the food and atmosphere good to. Ive been with a group of 10 and a goup of 6 and the food has all arrived on time and has been delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a good night out with friends.

Eating at Glamorous is a really mixed experience; on one hand, the sheer scale of the place is impressive, the menu is fairly extensive and the food is pretty good. On the other hand, it's in a dog-rough location, you get mithered by people trying to sell you things from food trolleys at your table all the time and it's really quite dirty in places. The chairs in the reception / waiting area are absolutely filthy with all kinds of stains, as is the carpet. The food is pretty good without being sensational; it's definitely of a higher quality than those eat-as-much-as-you-want self-service Chinese buffets, but it's - in my opinion - just the same as an average Chinatown restaurant. All in all, a little disappointing.

Earth Cafe is beneath Manchester Buddhist Centre, and the decor and atmosphere reflect that. It's relaxed and friendly, with cheerful staff, and the food is served cafeteria style. They use mostly locally grown ingredients and the food is very fresh - big choice of juices, smoothies and salads as well as several choices of main course, and unexpectedly delicious cakes and coffee too. It's all ridiculously cheap for the quality and quantity you get, and the statues are beautiful . . .

As the restaurant is named dough you would think that this is an area they would specialise in. A good pizza is very easy to make but even easier to get wrong. Unfortunately for dough they just haven't got it right. Whilst the pizza toppings are average the pizza bases resemble supermarket own brand. It's a shame because the location is good and the staff very pleasant. I can think of six or seven other places in Manchester city centre I would prefer to go for a pizza and most of these have a wide selection of meat and fish dishes as well.

We went for a pre-concert meal on Saturday at Sweet Mandarin. It was a buzzy atmosphere, service was really efficient and friendly and the food came out quick and was amazing. I ordered the salt and pepper wings which were so fresh and delicious. My partner ordered the hot and sour soup which had the right balance to it. Then we tried the Shanghai Beef and Mandarin Chicken - both were excellent. I will definitely be recommending Sweet Mandarin to my friends and be returning for more. Thanks for a wonderful meal.

Went to sweet manderin last night and at best I can say is very average. We had the starters combo for 2 which consisted of 2 s&p ribs, very dry and tasteless, prawn toast, quite good, spring rolls, ok, and seaweed, again just ok. Mains I had the claypot chicken which again was alright and my wife had firecracker chicken which was sweet and sour with a bit, and I mean a bit, of chilli. We finished with 2 coffees which were instant! £3.50 for 2 instant coffees! The waiter was cheery, but a friend who knows the family reckon they are all well educated to degree level, well this guys maths was not his major as his adding up was shocking and I had to correct him twice on the bill. Funny though he knew what 10% of everything was.

DO NOT eat here!! I had a hair in my food and the waiter tried to convince me it was mine, despite it being a different colour! He even turned the light on to show me when my friend was still eating her meal... Portions very small and not worth the money at all, even for the early dinner menu!!

PLEASE FORWARD TO THE RESTAURANT - My friend and I dined here on Friday and had the set menu 2 courses for £12 - the portion sizes were tiny and the food was not worth this expensive price. Being vegetarian I had no choice but the mushroom starter and vegetable main course - the starter was certainly not 'salt and pepper' as described, as had no flavour or heat to it and we had to order prawn crackers to fill ourselves up. My friend had the chicken dumplings, which were tiny and served with a few shreds of lettuce. My friend's main course was the worst part, as she found a human hair in her beef shanghai noodles! The waiter then returned to our table holding the hair explaining that it was not the chef's hair as it was the wrong colour and insinuating that it was my friend's hair - even though it was not her hair colour. My main course was far from substantial and was a plate of vegetables consisting of only water chestnuts and chinese leaf in a sauce. There was no vegetarian substitute, e.g. tofu, hence no protein balance as the rice was just plain rice. For £12 a head you are completely ripped off and leave the restaurant still hungry. The waiter was over friendly and this became irritating. I would not return here to eat again and was highly disappointed. The various other chinese restaurants in the city centre offer far better value for money with more extensive choices of food on their set menus, larger adequate portions, 3 courses and all at a cost of between £8 - £10. I think you should research the competition and adapt your menus and service significantly.

I first went to Ning for the first time on 19th February and were very impressed with both the food and service, excellent on both counts. One of my friends who came along has since contacted me requesting another visit - it obviously made an impression on her!

Visited Dough for the first time on Valentines. Whilst the Northern Quarter is not the most pleasant area of Manchester it does provide ample parking. Dough however offers a very pleasant dining environment. Modern, minimalist, bright and very clean. The space between tables was more than many restaurants afford their guests and this spacious feel combined with a young mixed gender clientele created the a very relaxed and enjoyable ambience. The staff were very attentive whilst not being overpowering. We were assigned a designated waiter and he was excellent. For starters we shared baked dough sticks served with balsamic vinegar & olive oil and a mango, vine tomatoes and red onion salad dressed with basil infused olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The salad in particular was excellent. Throughout the evening the ingredients were fresh and very tasty. Our pizza main course was served with perfect timing. We eagerly consumed the Funghi and American options. In our opinion the pizzas were on a par with the Olive Garden and far superior to other Manchester restaurants we have dined at. The big difference and clearly important at the moment was the low prices charged by the Dough. To pay so little for such a pleasant dining experience mans we will be going back again and again. A great night.

Went with Chinese foodie friends who know a thing or two about good Cantonese food. Great experience, the best dim sum I've had. We gave ourselves over to our friends' recommendations and were rewarded with plate after plate of delightful textures and flavours. My favourite dish? The BBQ Honey Pork steamed buns. I could eat - oooh - 20 of these babies in one sitting! The price? Amazing value - Seventy quid for six of us. The decor is groovy - a style best described as 'opulent kitsch' but perfect for the occasion. Please go - you won't regret it

I would highly recommend Sweet Mandarin. A number of friends and I visited for dinner and had a great time. The food was fresh, delicious and probably the best Chinese I've tasted in ages. We ordered the Mabel's Claypot Chicken, Lily's curry, Sweet and Sour Chicken, King Prawn Satay, Mixed Vegetables and Tofu and Wambamboo (Char Sui and Mushrooms). It was good to see that they had Chinese favourites and home recipes on the menu. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun. The service was exceptional - friendly and knowledgeable. Sweet Mandarin is in the heart of the Northern Quarter which is a huge plus - its a great place to hang out during the weekend. I will definitely be back soon.

This restaurant works. It is clinical the staff are welcoming and the pizzas are loaded. I had the Asian Chicken Pizza and it was the best i have had in any pizza restaurant. Nice little bar next door as well. Keep up the good work.
