I have visited quite a few times with different people at both lunchtime and evening and every time without fail the food has been excellent and very good value. The staff are friendly and efficient, restaurant is spotless and well laid out with a very good atmosphere. Top marks as always

Had a breakfast at The School House and its just such a lovely place. Great vibe, really clean and fabulous staff who are really engaging and friendly. The food was delicious, perfect way to start the day.

We had breakfast @ The School House on a Saturday as part of our Mill House Cottage package. The school house is set in a great location and is simply a lovely environment. The Breakfast choice was great with the food itself very tasty and ample portions for all. Complimented with the service which was excellent, this was a very enjoyable experience that we will definitely look to return to in the future.

We love going to Raffaello’s!! It is our local Italian restaurant and we will not go somewhere else. The staff is so friendly and the food is excellent. It is even our 4 year old’s favourite restaurant. I have already recommended you and will continue to do so.

Jen and her team are absolutely amazing nothing is too much trouble. They remembered our drinks order everytime we went in. The chilli potato skins are delicious as is the steak pie. We have eaten there a few times and never had a bad meal. Well worth a visit is you are in the area. The featherblade and mushroom risotto from the valentines menu were to die for. Well done guys and keep up the good work.

Very disappointed with the evening meal we had during the week after a fantastic Sunday lunch a few days earlier. The fish pie was advertised as having a white sauce but there was little evidence of this and therefore the pie was very dry. The root vegetable curry consisted mainly of cauliflower which we were unaware of as being a root vegetable and did not appear to contain any kind of sauce and so was also quite dry. The naan bread was overcooked and like cardboard although we did mention this and were given a slightly better replacement. The staff did not appear very knowledgeable about the menu and the food they were serving. All in all the food was very disappointing and overpriced for what we received which was a shame as we had high hopes after the lovely roast dinners.

We had breakfast in the School House with lots of choices and it's an open kitchen so you can see your food being prepared ...could not fault any of it .. we had full English bacon crispy...sausage flavoursome.. Ours was part of a spa package but tge prices are reasonable and food 1st class

It was all OK from welcome through to service, food and price. My only gripe was the unbearable temperature of the restaurant which was very hot but maybe that was just our party. It's a casual pub style of dining and does what it says on the tin.

I stay yearly at the cottages and have a wonderful spa followed by a 3-course delight at the Apple Inn ...lovely staff nothing is a bother .. we had an excellent breakfast at the School House this morning ...a true Northumberland warm welcome

A lovely evening with super staff in very pleasant surroundings, and only a short walk from the HPB we were staying in, thank you. Husband not too keen on the chunky chips!

We love breakfast at the school house. A good and varied selection, that's always tasty! Good size portions too.

Been coming to the area for many years but this was our first visit to The Apple - it won’t be our last. Lovely food, great atmosphere, attentive and pleasant serving staff. My veggie burger was very nice, but on delivery the plate looked very beige - would have benefitted from some veg or salad to make it look more appetising. The puddings were lovely, but seemed a little expensive - my lemon posset was delicious (despite the chunk missing from my shortbread biscuit!).

Second time here and just as good as the first time. Good portions and all very well presented.
