We have been visiting Piri Piri since it opened just a few months ago - the food is fantastic and must be tried - go for the extra hot piri piri platter to share! Service levels are truly excellent. This is a family restaurant and to dine here is to become a member of the owners family. He will greet you personally, check with you on a regular basis and really make even an afternoon snack a special occasion. On Saturday nights (which are getting busier and busier as word spreads) the owners lovely wife helps out front-of house, while other friends and relatives work in the kitchen or as waiting staff. Our 5yr old son has asked to have his birthday party here - he is welcomed and treated as a very special customer each time we visit - but then so are all kids. My wife and I recently visited for a romantic and rare, night away from our son - again it was a marvellous experience - cosy, bustling, brilliant food, inexpensive and excellent wine. I encourage everyone to try this place - it's truly marvellous.

popped in for tea after work, 6 o clock-ish Monday, bar was humming with local drinkers and dining area quite busy. had very good home made pate served with crispy toast, small salad and sweet chutney very tasty ! Had the gammon off the standard menu, massive, beautifully cooked served with pineapple, free range egg, peas and loads of hand cut crispy chips washed down with wait for it a margarita cocktail. which was pretty good all for £15,found out the chef is the bosses wife,, no wonder the food is such high quality, . went home feeling much better than when i came in ! happy days

discovered this pub restaurant by chance a couple of months ago and have been 4 times since. An old pub in burscough village, family owned and operated, easy parking, very nice inside and very friendly staff. Menu is smallish but splendid daily specials all at reasonable prices but the quality stands out, suppliers are named ! tonight I had seared scallops on a tomato and rocket base with a sweet chilli dressing scrumptious !followed by a large gammon steak in a pineapple sauce on a bed of dauphinouse potato plus a pint of shandy made with their own brewed bitter, all in all £15 odd, what a bargain and what a talented chef.

Visited on a whim for lunch after driving past. I think the place has only recently had a refurb, as the entrance in was very confusing. A bar at the front, with some tables/chairs and then a restaurant behind where the plastering hadn't even been finished. It took the staff a while to recognise we were waiting for a table and there seemed no system for greeting customers. We were seated at the back, in a corner. The restaurant was dingy, needed the lights on despite the sunny weather. We ordered and endured a 40 minute wait for our good. Considering it was basic pub grub there was no reason for the wait - and we weren't the only ones in that boat, there were plenty of other hungry looking diners around the restaurant. The service was poor, there were plenty of staff but they seemed unsure and it lacked someone with strong front of house management skills. When the food came it was good, apart from a roast beef sandwich that was more butter than beef. My partner had a burger, which was good with a giant onion ring. It was an average meal at a restaurant/pub that needs to decide what it wants to be.

I think this place is outstanding! perfect food all the time made with such care and quality. The cakes are OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! The chef that makes them is awesome, you can tell he takes time and pride and is extremely creative in his craft. There is no better!!!! I can't wait for my next visit!!

Its been several years since we were last at Quattros ( only because we have been out of the country) pleased to say the food is still excellent. My Husband is Italian and food is a passion of his , so for him to spend money going to Quattros is a compliment.

Absolutely gorgeous! Just returned from a fabulous meal at Quattro's. Delicious food, entertaining staff and a wonderful ambience. Couldn't have asked for a better evening and will definitely return (soon I hope)!

This is one of my regular Indian restaurants, it's a small cosy eating place upstairs. Waiters are friendly and there is a good atmosphere here. They have just updated the menu and I had to study the extensive range of courses for ages. They cook a lot of unusual dishes now. Curry dishes are really lovely and everything is reasonably priced!

Went to the pheasant for Sunday dinner, we were very disappointed, small portions with undercooked veg and three small dry pieces of beef and vastly over priced, when i went to pay the managers attitude was aggressive and rude, I will never recommend this place I will tell people never to eat there and I will certainly never return

Went to the Left Bank following positive comments from a close female friend of mine, where we later dined together. I must admit that I was impressed with the very attentive service, a very fairly priced two-course menu with a good choice of starters and mains. Nice décor and general ambience, good food and wine, and great company made our visit very memorable.

I'be been going to this pub for their Sunday Lunch for the last year since reading the reviews on here. However, in that time, the service, staff friendliness and food standards have all slipped. We were 2 hours on Sunday for a main/dessert and the waitress was pretty rude to us because we were 10 minutes late for our reservation (even though the place was empty). The Sunday Lunch has reduced in size and increased in price. Won't be back for a while.

fantastic restaurant. cosy, clean, bright and airy. Servers are friendly and polite, and food is excellent. Menus vary from day to evening/weekend, special offers great value for money. Food very nicely presented and quick service we have eaten there in a party of 12 and a table of 2 and both times been very impressed. off peak (before 5 i think on a sat two of us had 3 courses and 2drinks total price £26!! peak time (Sunday evening) same thing was £33 but free bottle of wine for two people with evening dinner menu (£11.95 per person for two courses). phone to book as quite a small but popular venue

Despite confusing notices to the contrary, this fine pub is open for bar food on Saturday afternoons. Not a huge choice for vegetarians but food was home cooked and well presnted. Portion size was generous. This was a welcoming friendly pub with a real log fire.

what a let down, we have been visiting this place for over twenty years with different managers, the service was attrocious, with young inexperienced staff, we spoke to one waitress who said it was the first time she had worked as a waitress, and she had received no training. add to this, mediocre bland food, result a recipe for disaster
