The Abingdon Arms – OxfordThe Abingdon Arms is perfectly set for views of Ot Moor and exploring the moor. It is just a mile or so by a delightful lane from the very extensive RSPB bird sanctuary. The pub itself has recently been extensively, but very tastefully, refurbished. Its interior is immaculate. Service was prompt and friendly. I went with a friend after a long walk on the moor. The lunch was very good ; I had the chicken and mushroom pie which was very tasty, and my friend very much enjoyed his beef pie. Our puddings were delicious - a carrot cake in my case and a cheese cake in my friend’s. Both were served with a lovely ice-cream. The Hook Norton ale was in perfect condition. A very good meal to follow a lovely walk.
The Abingdon Arms – OxfordReally good food. Lovely atmosphere with friendly service. We thought it was a very good price for such a good meal.
The Abingdon Arms – OxfordHi there I came with four friends on Thursday evening. It's such a lovely atmosphere and a place to meet. However the food was hit and miss - the meatballs were great according to one of our friends but my sirloin wasn't medium rare and really tough. I had to cut each slice really thinly to eat it. Also I asked for a large glass of Sauvignon and was a bit horrified to see that it cost £12 for the glass. Should I expect to be shown the list so that I could choose a wine by the glass that fits my budget? It feels like the waitress might have chosen the most expensive one on the menu. I will come again but it does feel like one has to be careful when ordering.
The Abingdon Arms – OxfordFood was ok but I had to send my steak back twice as it was well done when I requested medium rare. Cocktails were great. Atmosphere was ok. Staff were friendly but really slow service , lots of staff stood in the bar talking to each other which was slightly annoying when your waiting for drink.
Cafe Coco – Oxfordgood food good service good atmosphere not bad value
The Abingdon Arms – OxfordWe had a chicken and mushroom pie on Friday and it was superb. My Dad is 87 and he said it was the best pie that he’d ever tasted. We’ll be back soon.
The Abingdon Arms – OxfordLovely meal but rather disappointed as we all checked the menu online and all chose what we would have only to find they change menu daily
The Abingdon Arms – OxfordThe Abingdon Arms in Beckley is an absolute gem. From the moment we arrived, everything was flawless. The setting is stunning, with breathtaking views across the Otmoor that perfectly complement the warm and welcoming atmosphere inside. The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful without ever being overbearing. Every member of staff made us feel at home. The food was simply excellent. Each dish was beautifully presented, cooked to perfection, and bursting with flavour. You can tell that local, seasonal ingredients are at the heart of the menu. The balance of traditional pub favourites with creative touches makes it a truly memorable dining experience. It’s rare to find a place that combines such a spectacular location, first-class service, and top-quality food, but The Abingdon Arms does it effortlessly. Without doubt one of the very best pubs in Oxfordshire. Highly recommended—we’ll be back again and again
The Abingdon Arms – OxfordI went for an incredible Sunday lunch. The beef was tender , the gravy deep in flavour and actual real roast potatoes and a great selection of fresh vegetables. Then cauliflower cheese. Just fantastic but notable for its cooking. The homemade apple pie , just heaven. I love the atmosphere of the Abingdon Arms and 5 mins from my home I feel as though I am in the countryside.
The Abingdon Arms – OxfordA happy occasion with only one proviso: the 4 roast lunches were beautifully cooked but lukewarm by the time they reached us.
The Abingdon Arms – OxfordA really nice meal in a good location, can’t fault the food or service We will definitely be coming back
The Abingdon Arms – OxfordLovely meal friendly staff
The Abingdon Arms – OxfordGreat location , ambience and service. Food ok - except for the s as pole pie! Poor.
The Abingdon Arms – OxfordBeware. The a la carte menu offered only 3 mains as pizzas were on offer. This was not listed on line when I booked for lunch out with visiting relatives. Very disappointing. The mains were poor too.
The Abingdon Arms – OxfordThe food was amazing and the landlord so welcoming. We were up for a week from Surrey and had just the best evening in the Abingdon Arms.
The Abingdon Arms – OxfordDelicious food and convivial atmosphere. The perfect place to enjoy a pub meal with friends.
The Abingdon Arms – OxfordA great location with beautiful views and space. The pub was really comfortable, the staff were very helpful and the food was very nice with generous portions. I look forward to coming back again soon.
