We chose this restaurant as it had good vegan options. The food was very good and all homemade. The dish size was quite small. The service was okay though not very quick. Our only complaint was that we ordered a non alcoholic bottle of wine which took ages to be served- as it wasn’t chilled enough. I don’t remember receiving an apology for having to wait for our drinks. The setting was lovely and we appreciated the uninterrupted sea view. The hotel is quite a way out of Paignton so we had to get a taxi back to our guest house. But we were able to sit in the lovely bar area while waiting for our taxi.

A wonderfully interesting , tasty and different dining experience . The food is beautifully presented , tasty and served with style . The ambience is delightful , the wine list interesting . It is way above much of Paignton's cuisine yet the price is modest . Bravo !

While staying at the hotel, I ate in the restaurant 3 times. The well apportioned tapas give a wide choice both in the selection and size of the meal. The quality of the food was excellent especially the duck balls with hoisin sauce and there is a wide range of wines / drinks to accompany the meal. Served by a very pleasant hotel manager together with good views over the bay to the sound of the sea if the tide is in.

We had a lovely tapas lunch sat outside overlooking the sea this last weekend. We were warmly greeted by the hotel & restaurant manager and made to feel very welcome. The drinks were lovely and well served, my cocktail with fresh mint picked from the herb pots on the terrace, & the food was incredibly fresh & tasty. I particularly enjoyed the duck balls with hoisin sauce & the potatas bravas .. & just what we were after. We will definitely eat here again.

Lovely meal whilst staying at Channel View - portions sizes were perfect: the prawns, crab croquettes, patatas bravas and bread delicious, and the local beer a must-try! Well worth visiting this little gem if you’re in the area. Thanks Peter and Ruth!

Fabulous food. Lovely location and great service.

Visited upper deck bistro a few days ago. The service was good the environment is lovely the food - well lots of choice , so each one of us found at least 3 Different dishes each and then shared . I would recommend going to try it out and to support a local business .

A really lovely evening. The terrace provided a great view of Paignton and Torquay. The owner was friendly and efficient. The food was really good value and delicious- loads to choose from and cooked fresh to order. The duck balls and prawns were particularly fab!

Overall, was very impressed. Weather wasn’t fab but views were beautiful and a nice, quiet atmosphere. The food was mostly beautiful, especially the garlic prawns. Unfortunately, the special (squid balls) and our desert (churros) were pretty overdone and crispy which was a shame. Everything else was lovely though.

What a hidden treasure. Lovely restaurant, with indoor and outdoor dining. It’s in a beautiful location, facing the seafront with amazing panoramic views across the bay. Wonderful menu selection of tapas dishes, very tasty and reasonably priced. Service was brilliant, very friendly owner, who welcomed us by name. Would definitely go back. Highly recommend.

Beautiful location, with fabulous views. We visited on a sunny evening and sat on the terrace. Very clean everywhere, including the "Poop Deck" toilet. We selected three dishes each (as recommended), which were a mixture of fish and meat and added Patatas Bravas and some bread. The food was excellent, one of the best meals we've had. The service was excellent too. Our only minor grumble was being charged £6.50 for bread.

Was looking forward to eating here after all the positive reviews but left rather disappointed. All the food was brought up together. My friend enjoyed the mussels but the pork in my pork secreto was tough and chewie. The garlic prawns I thought were tasteless and sanitised and flavourless.We were also charged £6.50 each for bread surely double an acceptable amount. A pleasant venue but issues need attention

Moved to Goodrington 9 weeks ago and just found this place, had a fantastic breakfast which was super and the view is also great, had Take-Away the day after which was also superb, this will be a favourite of our now :-)

Had a lovely Visiting 6/7/25. Food was lovely Good portions excellent value for money and we were well looked after by the patron. Will definitely return when next in Paignton

I took my partner here last Sunday and it was an amazing experience. The place was very clean and tidy, the view was amazing and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The menu has huge variety and all portions were very generous. We're both Vegan and it felt like we had such a large choice of food and drink, with everything clearly labelled. I very much look forward to coming here again.
