Food was perfect and absolutely delicious! The ambience and views took my breath away and the service was flawless! Highly recommend and would definitely go back!!!

We had a lovely meal here. The food was incredible. Ordered 3 dishes each so we could try a variety. All of the dishes were delicious. However the duck balls were by far the best. So much so we ordered another portion! Fantastic service, incredible food- a hidden gem.

Tasty Tapas with great views over the coastline. Friendly and helpful proprietor. Free parking in front of Bistro ( limited, as shared with hotel guests) and also on road. Gem of a find - will return!

First visit. Food was amazing. Had about 14 different dishes between 4 of us. Couldn't fault any of them. All freshly cooked using great quality ingredients. The view is one of the best in the bay just to top off the superb experience. Highly recommend.

This lovely bistro is hidden away next to the Preston Beach area of Paignton, but it is well worth searching out! Firstly, it has an open air rooftop terrace with spectacular views across the whole of the bay. Then there is the food - a wonderful selection of tapas dishes, which were beautifully cooked. We selected five, plus a portion of bread, and that was ample for the two of us. Then there is the host and owner, Peter, who greeted us warmly, and was attentive but never made us feel rushed. It was the perfect end to our short break, and we would not hesitate to recommend it.

The perfect location for a romantic evening or a meal out with friends. Fabulous restaurant overlooking the bay! Superb selection of tapas with super fresh seafood, selection of meat dishes abd lots of veggie options. All cooked to order. A very leisurely dining experience with a warm welcome from the owner. We will definitely go back !

Not aimed for joe public, arrived on the hop for the carvery experience..... clean decor , very small eating area, great cutlery and napkins, nice wine glasses . Food however very disappointed promised as many Yorkshire puds you can eat, we had to ask for one ? Meat not very good, cauliflower cheese ? Hmmmm not good Cold food, frozen peas not really a cavery just food served on a hot plate. £10.95 each overpriced for a disappointing meal and a 10% surcharge automatically added ? Will not be returning .

Very rude, aggressive staff. We were told we would have to eat elsewhere as we had not ordered food for all the children in our party, offending children were 1, and 2 but there had been larger adults portions ordered to share with them. But this was not good enough and we were informed it was their busy time despite there being several other vacant tables in the restaurant so it was best we ate elsewhere. Never been spoken too so condescending, it's amazing how much damage to a reputation can one older lady do. If this is the owner of Scoffs, then she really is doing more harm then good with this high handed approach. Will never eat there again and I can safely say the same for the other 6 adults and 5 children in our party.

On the 9/9/14 we tried to eat at Scoffs. My friend was in a scooter and had her foot in a brace which meant that she needed to stay in the scooter. The place was quiet. Upon entry the tall guy asked us to leave the scooter outside one of the other staff noticed that my friend had her leg in a brace and pointed it out, to which the other guy then said "can you sit outside then"!! It was late in the afternoon and going off chilly. I noticed that someone else had a seat walker frame which wasn't that much smaller than the scooter but they were allowed to sit inside. I said "oh so you can allow that in here then" We told him to forget it and we ate at a much friendlier place. Later when we went back past we saw a pushchair in there!!!! What's the difference???? Certainly NOT disabled friendly...... only to certain people it seems. Your loss mate.

We had a wonderful day at Castle Barton on the occasion of our Golden Wedding anniversary on May 25th. Lunch was delicious. Excellent service. A lovely oasis to relax over a meal anytime. Pretty garden. Thank you Castle Barton for making the day special. Sue

WOW WOW WOW!!! The best chips I have tasted in the 40 years and some I've been on this planet. Me and my partner took a short 2 night break this week and on the first evening we were greeted with a lovely young lady offering free sample chips to try. We normally avoid these sort of gimmicks like the plague but my partner couldn't resist and soon reeled me into have a try!! It was so soft and fluffy on the inside and the great battered texture on the outside without a trace of grease like you'd expect from the good old UK chippy!! We weren't pressured into the shop and was left to go on our way and on return to our B

We have been frequenting this establishment since the 1970's when the family moved in and we have to say that it is indeed a wonderful and most friendly restaurant place.The food is excellent and we recommended it. Mike and Maureen.

What a lovely surprise. Went there for Sunday lunch with a relative from Paignton who has not been there previously. The owners/hosts were so pleasant and lovely. The food really was excellent. To live so closeby and although we had previously heard good comments but not to have visited we should be feeling very guilty. See you again soon with a bunch of our friends and I will give them a surprise not to be forgotten. Thank you
