Good food for vegetarians
Dynasty Chinese Restaurant – PenzanceExcellent! best food and best views, staff made us feel so welcome and great music too, will definatly be back next year.
Beach Restaurant – PenzanceWow a hidden restaurant in a residential area with superb view across Mounts Bay. We booked a table a couple of weeks ago on a busy Saturday night. The food was excellent with vibrant colours and flavours. The Knowledgeable staff recommended the perfect wine to compliment the meal. It's well worth the visit, I for one will definitely be going back.
The Garden Bar and Restaurant – PenzanceWonderful food, excellent service. A lovely intimate cafe, I'll certainly be back.
Mackerel Sky Cafe Bar – PenzanceThis is a great place for dinner. Good food and a wonderful view.
The Garden Bar and Restaurant – PenzanceNice place, a little lacking given the £80 price tag for a dinner for 2 with a bottle of wine and a shared desert. Would probably head elsewhere if I were to spend that dough again as at the price I reckon there is probably better. We did enjoy our evening here and the food was good to very good. Service was with a smile though a bit lacking in knowledge and very informal, which suited us fine. they just seemed to forget to do all the right things at the right times, and this was on a Monday night in October.
Cornish Range – PenzanceExcellent and dedicated Health Food Shop and vegetarian Cafe. Great salads, inexpensive meals.
Archie Browns Vegetarian Restaurant – PenzanceBrilliant all around.
Archie Browns Vegetarian Restaurant – PenzanceWe had heard about this place so we drove down from Devon, parking can be a problem in the town but the building was great, it was a bit windy so we ate inside. It was a very busy lunchtime and the staff were flat out and a little overstretched, it may be teething trouble but they didnt seem to be very confident and fluid. Anyway the food options and the drinks were excellent and the interior smart. We had a decent brunch and will probably return when they have settled in.
Beach Restaurant – PenzanceFriends brought us here while we were on holiday. The setting is spectacular. The structure was made entirely of wood which had a fabulous smell. The food was very good and if the service was a wee bit haywire it was just due to teething problems as they had just opened. Plenty of staff though. It will be on my places to visit list when I return to Cornwall.
Beach Restaurant – PenzanceOur annual visits to Cornwall - usually off-season are not complete without a stay and/or a meal at the Cornish Range. The accommodation is stylish, luxurious, positively oozing good taste and comfort. Dinner is always a treat to be savoured. The service attentive. The quality and freshness of the food continues the standard begun in Richard's time and and the menus are tantalising. I suppose it was inevitable that prices had to go up (dammit!) once the word had got about. Anyway I would still choose the Cornish Range over a 5 star hotel - and thankfully there are none as yet in Mousehole - are they?
Cornish Range – Penzancewahho for the sandbar is all i can say!!!
Sandbar – PenzanceAlthough it was a cold wet night outside, we found the CR to be warm and welcoming. The interior decoration is excellent and tables are well-spaced. The fish (surely the main reason for going) is unbelievably good but availability is obviously dictated by the catch (sorry to other patrons; we blitzed the Scallops in Cocconut Chilli sauce). One of us had beef which he said was also very good. Service was relaxed but very professional (efficient, without being obsequious) and matches anything you could hope to find in other top-class restaurants. Although I've rated the cost as 'Pricey', this is by local standards. By London standards, I'd probably say that it was the top end of 'Average'. Luckily, we have family in the area so we have the excuse to return to the CR whenever we're visiting them!
Cornish Range – PenzanceThis has got to be our favorite Chinese restaurant of all time ! We have visited on many occasions and each time the food has been excellent, and cooked to perfection (Try the Mongolian Lamb - its wonderful), excellent service, very reasonable prices. Forget Eastern Promise at Grampound, this place is far better.
Dynasty Chinese Restaurant – PenzanceWe stayed in the adjoining B & B part of The Cornish Range and as a treat eat in the their restaurant for the first night. The food was terrific and of very good quality, however, we found the service terrible. We had to ask for everything twice and our main meals took well over an hour to arrive - they then said it was out fault as we did not order starters?? in the end we were almost the last to leave after arriving at 7.30pm for a main and a desert and a bottle of wine.
Cornish Range – PenzanceBrowns is the place to head for if you are in or around Penzance. Delicious vegetarian food in nice surroundings. It is just a shame they are not open more often in the evenings.
Archie Browns Vegetarian Restaurant – PenzanceI took two vegetarian friends out one Sunday evening for a treat, we sat in the conservatory and chose a decent bottle of rose bubbly to sip and were brought some canapes on the house. We sat at a a window table and soaked up the atmosphere, the veggies were very well catered for and thought the food was excellent, large servings and well presented. I chose the steak which cut like butter and came with 'hand made chips'. The desserts were beautiful and the wine list had a good choice of half bottles so everybody was happy. Well done the Bay!
The Garden Bar and Restaurant – PenzanceThe best Chinese/Cantonese restaurant i have ever been to and its in cornwall!!! Excellent menu and the food is amazing. My boyfriend and I went there after a friend recommended we check it out and we've been back again and again. The setting is really cosy, a little like a cavern, nice for a romantic meal. i cant stress enough the fact that you really need to pay this little gem of place a visit.
