Excellent Sunday roast with family. Great service, drinks and food. A**
The White Hart – PenzanceI used to visit this restaurant regularly in the 1980s when I lived in Cornwall. I went back there recently for the first time in 30 years and I was amazed that the quality of food and friendly service had not altered in all that time. Some would say that lack of change is a downside to a restaurant, but I would differ. The Waterside Meadery has an amazing charm all of its own and if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Waterside Meadery – PenzanceWe was pointed to our table, not even shown. The waitress asked us for our drinks as we were waiting to be given a table. We sat at the table no one told us we could get food from the buffet, we were ignored all evening and all the waitresses were on their phones. They shouted across the room in Chinese, and the day after both me and my partner got severe food poisoning. Strongly don't recomend this restaurant as I dread to think what would of happened if this was a child, elderly person or pregnant lady.
Dynasty Chinese Restaurant – PenzanceEaten here many times, it's excellent ! Huge menu of fresh hot food..Staff very friendly and interact with children. Buffet meals are "all you can eat". Decor has recently been improved but your not there for the decor, Easy to find and plenty of car parking spaces, ENJOY.
Dynasty Chinese Restaurant – PenzanceDecided to take my girlfriend to this restaurant whilst on holiday October 2011. Wish I hadn’t!! As we walked into the restaurant we were immediately struck by how cold it was (it was warmer outside) however we decided to give it a go! We ordered chicken satay and honey glazed ribs for starters. As the waitress took our order my girlfriend asked if it was possible to have some heating on. The waitress remarked that the heating was broken and would not be fixed for a couple of days. We accepted this and carried on. After a short period our starter turned up, however it was not what we ordered. This was soon put right.. The Satay Chicken we had was terrible, processed and rubbery, so we left it! The ribs were passable. For mains we had Sweet and Sour Chicken and Sweet and Sour Pork and an egg fried rice. The Sweet and Sour sauce tasted vinegary and the Pork was very fatty. Also the Egg fried rice was salty! I decided that this was not acceptable so we paid for the starters and drinks only and promptly left! I have eaten Chinese food in many different countries and have been to a fair few Chinese restaurants in this country. This place is dreadful. Food not even fit for consumption. If you want good quality Chinese food go to Hoi Yan in Helston! It is the dogs b*****ks!
Dynasty Chinese Restaurant – PenzanceTerrible, unfriendly service, mediocre food, altogether a very unwelcoming and horrible experience. We went with small children and felt as if they wanted us to leave as soon as we arrived.
Kegen Teg – PenzanceReturned to The Bakehouse again wasn't disappointed! beautiful steak, knife slipped through it like butter.yum.
Bakehouse Restaurant – Penzancelooking superb after re-fit, friendly and cinema downstairs , result!
Savoy Restaurant and Bar – PenzanceWe have been regular visitors of this establishment for many years. We visited in June 2011 and were disappointed that they had taken Eggs Benedict off the menu - this was by far THE best EB we had ever had - so a little disappointed! On the morning we arrived the chap serving was on his own apart from the kitchen staff. He did a sterling job, and anyway, who cares about having to wait a bit if you're told about it and are kept informed? Also, the view over the harbour from the restaurant compensated! HOWEVER, we visited again on a second occasion, and found the atmosphere to be considerably different to that on our first visit. There was an Asian lady who was simply barking orders at everyone and running round like a Tazmanian Devil! Although we weren't being rushed, we felt as though we should be!! Would I go back again - yes, I would - the food is very good.
Renaissance Cafe The – PenzanceKier Meikle of the Navy Inn owes me almost £200 in EARNED wages. Please do the right thing and do not support an employer who does not pay his staff. There are many other restaurants in Penzance which offer better service and better food at a better price. In short, I did trial at the Navy under the agreement I would be earning £250 per week. I worked the week, and recieved £69. Apparently the owner and I "agreed" on this, although no conversation ever took place where I was told that for one day I would be working for no payment whatsoever, and the rest I would be getting minimum wage of £4.83 p/h. I would also warn you that this chef regularly yells at customers, kicks them out, makes people leave if they aren't spending enough and someone could sit at their table and spend more.
Navy Inn – PenzanceOVER PRICED AND EMPTY AT 8PM ON A SATURDAY NIGHT...SAYS IT ALL
Mackerel Sky Cafe Bar – PenzanceMy fiancee and i were visiting family in Penzance in February 2010. We ended up having our breakfast here every morning for a week. The food was amazing, the staff always friendly and the hot chocolates were the perfect thing for a cold morning. We both look forward to the day when we can come back.
Mackerel Sky Cafe Bar – PenzanceWe popped in after a blustery walk on the beach and sat down on the comfy sofas by the fire. We had tasty burgers and chunky chips. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was a great place to take kids as we played pool and air hockey. It's also dog friendly which is great.
Sandbar – PenzanceEnjoyed excellent tapas and wine in cosy cafe in Penzance

Bakehouse Restaurant – PenzanceDuring a very wet and windy stay in Cornwall in November 2009, we visited the Navy Inn as it had been recommended by a friend. As foodies, we can be quite easily disappointed but in this case there can only be praise. The decor is traditional pub, which is hard to find in a gastro pub, and the food and wine were superb, especially the food, and very reasonable. It is food for foodies though, and the brilliant chef does not suffer fusses gladly. All in all, brilliant!
Navy Inn – PenzanceVisited for Sunday lunch last weekend with my very fussy partner. The Navy is a gastro pub with an old school feel, we started with a lovely home made terrine with leaves followed by gorgeous roast beef-cooked pink, delicious gravy and a crispy and huge yorkshire pudding. Worth a visit just for that yorkshire alone!! Best Sunday Roast in Cornwall in our opinion. £8.95!
