If you're looking to impress someone this is definitely the place to take them to. You can eat a hearty meal without feeling sluggish afterwards then sit and chat while smoking sheeshas. Amazing.

What a surprise this little Bistro is! We visited after reading reviews on Sugarvine just this week and enjoyed an amazing well priced 2 - 4 - 1 Bistro Special lunch for only £24 Plenty of choice including smashing seafood and brilliant Salmon Cakes. Mark my words this is an excellent venue and very easy to find. We've booked already for Valentine's day!

I had Christmas Day lunch at Seawings with my Sister and Brother-in-Law and we were all very impressed with the whole experience. Very good food, a superb bottle of wine (Brown Brothers), very friendly and efficient staff and a pleasant atmosphere. We were not rushed through our meal and were fortunate enough to have a table in the conservatory with its 180 degree view of Plymouth Sound. Also when booking I was asked if there any special dietary requirements without any prompting and it may only seem like a small thing but at last, a restaurant that brings you a jug of water and glasses without having to ask for it. Thank you Patsy, Gemma and staff for a lovely afternoon.

When I dined at St. Elizabeth's House, it had only been open for a couple of days, and I had been waiting and watching the progress of the refurbishment of the convent for quite some time with great anticipation. The standard of service that we received was second to none, Clare and Fleur are an absolute asset to the team. We were made to feel as if we were the only guests in the restaurant. The ambience and the layout of the restaurant also added to the intimate atmosphere. The food was outstanding. I chose the beef, which melted in my mouth, and the wine list was extensive, comprehensive, and also amusing! What I found to be the nicest surprise, however, was price! The value for money was fantastic. We had the fine dining experience without the fine dining pricing. Overall, I can not recommend St. Elizabeth's House enough. I do believe that it is only a matter of time before there are rosettes awarded. Well done.

Two courses for £13.50... cheaper than eating in a pub, well, a half decent one! Food is always divine, the beef stew was hearty, and the ice creams/ sorbets were glorious! I? truly a fan of Chris and James! and the team.. only gripe, was the seat near the chimney was a bit drafty, but, that? didn? matter....

A very welcome addition to Plymouth an contemporary, brasserie that uses very good ingredients and has excellent service. I dropped in for a quick re-fuel, Rib Eye and fries, pepper sauce, glass of good wine £17 The steak was excellent and large, cooked perfectly. I didn? like the presentation with a metal gravy boat and the fries at this sort of place should be hand cut, like at most of the posh burger joints around the UK. I will not hesitate to go back and found it excellent value.

Wasn't keen to go for our Xmas meal as no beef, lamb, venison etc, only 2 fish, 2 fowl & 1 veggies option. glad I put reservation aside though as meal and service was excellent, would recommend anytime

The setting is fabulous (within Gin Distillery, on the Barbican). The place had a relaxed feeling, yet was tastefully decorated. Thought the menu was varied. I was really impressed with the sea bass.

Very friendly gay pub, very nice landlord and boyfriend very nice crowd in with excellent entertainment. a must visit if you visit Plymouth very cheap drinks

Excellent! Loved it. What a great place, unlike anything else in Plymouth. Service was great, food was fab. We left feeling very happy and satisfied, but not so full we had to roll out the door! Which was perfect. Really good evening.

An excellent restaurant friendly staff, tasty food and very reasonably priced nicely situated near city centre.

Hubby took me here for a late birthday treat - he'd been going to book Tanners but I thought it was a bit too formal. This was perfect, you still feel looked after, not chain pub at all, but it is informal & the menu accessible, even to fussy hubby! Everything we ate was incredible, & the reasonably priced wine list was good with the Shiraz we chose being outstanding. The Duck (unfortunately not my meal) was the best, literally the best that either of us have ever tasted & we do like to eat a lot. What's more, we do like to complain if things aren't just so, & apart from being a little warm in the restaurant (bearing in mind it's also very mild outside) there was absolutely nothing I'd change.

As visitors to Plymouth we were lucky to stumble upon the Zeus Restaurant. A small, busy really & friendly restaurant, with a very good food and excellent staff. We dined there twice, and on both occasions enjoyed both the food & unpretentious atmosphere

We visited the Rose and Crown for the first time, just a few days ago. We regularly drive past it on the way to Plymouth and have said on many occassions "we must try this place". After checking the "pub" out on their website they make reference to an outside area suitable for children and generally gave the impression that this was probably a child friendly place. How wrong we were! We booked a table by telephone without any problem, I asked for a table in the family room as we had two small children (5 & 7 years), but told that the family room was "all booked out", oh well we'll in the main eating area. On arrival at the "pub" instead of the traditional pub style we were expecting my Husband and I just looked at each other - we have entered a restaurant! How can this be - it's just won Pub of the Year? Maybe it was entered in the wrong category? Onto the table - "Do you have a childrens menu" I ask "no" is the reply "you can choose something from the normal menu and we will make it smaller" she continues. At this point we wonder if we should stay and discuss finishing our drinks and leaving, I can't give a five year old a Thai Green curry or other exotic things - don't get me wrong I don't want them to have nuggetts and chips either, but something a little plainer would be more suitable for their tiny tummies. Instead we plump for the sausages and crushed potatoes, which my son (7) enjoyed but my daughter could not tolerate - covered in gravy, too salty for her. This review must sound pretty bad at this point, and for us it was. However if we had not had the children with us I would probably have left saying what a fantastic meal we'd had. My recommendation must be made to the Rose and Crown - please, please, please ensure you make it clear to the public, you are not suitable for younger children, despite having a secret garden for them to play safely in!

A friend and i visited this lovely restaurant on a Wednesday evening about 5.30pm before it got busy and would highly recommend it. We were within time to still have the lunch menu (at a special offer) and so we both opted for a tagine and a drink for about £6. I had the prawn one and it was lovely. the service was great. The waitress sat down with us and told us what each dish was. Definitely go for the orange cake! You may need more than one dish each though (we felt satisfied only because we had had the cake too) definitely a place just to chill out in a lovely atmosphere in early evening or lunch or in a group it would be a lively place in the evening. Tables are a bit uncomfortable to eat at as they are so small but i suppose you just eat in a more relaxed fashion! An excellent restaurant.

Went here on a girls night out for work. Was very impressed by the food (and the cost of the jugs of margherita!) Was a lively atmosphere and the tequilla bar was good too. Prices were a little more expensive than we'd expected (Lorenzo's is better value) but this place had a lively atmosphere and a good varied choice available.

Veggie Perrins is my favourite restaurant, the food is cooked with love and is always fantastic(actually better than meals i had in india-fact!). The atmosphere is chilled and Bill is a legend. I just wish there was one in Falmouth as travelling two hours for a curry isn't always practical, but it's worth it!
