Third time lucky here, as I haven't been able to get in on a weekend at all. Finally sampled some excellent local food and wine (Sharpham Dart Valley Reserve - v good) in this downtown bistro. We eat our way through mussels, oysters, scallops and John Dory. Spot on West Country cheeses and baked chocolate cheesecake finished us off! Tempted next time by the full-on scoff breakfast served up till 2.30. Unpretentious and good value.
Bistro One – PlymouthI had a meal with my friends there for the first time and everything about the restaurant was perfect. We were served by a friendly waitress and the food was absolutely superb! The meal was really tasty and the presentation was outstanding. Those who have not tried this restaurant must do so, you don't know what you are missing!
Yukisan – PlymouthWhat appears to be a very "Posh and imposing" restaurant is actually a very cosy, intimate and welcoming place for a romantic meal/post theatre meal. The staff are very friendly and the service was great. I have not enjoyed a meal so much for a while in the plymouth area - certainly top of my list!
Chloe’s Restaurant – PlymouthThis is one of my favourite restaurants in Plymouth, offering a wide variety of genuine French cuisine and great wines, probably the only true French restaurant in the city. The ambience and service is excellent, all in all, a great night out.
Chloe’s Restaurant – PlymouthWe travelled from St Ives for my birthday and this was the best Indian meal I have ever had - except for those in India! The food was so wonderful I was upset when the meal was over. We will be regularly making the 160 mile round trip - it's worth it.

Morley Arms – PlymouthI'm not even sure if they do food here, I've never been in looking for it, it's a must to visit though - the atmosphere is great and there's usually some music going on - if you haven't tried it give it a go - you won't regret it.
Minverva Inn – PlymouthA nice place - a bit hit and miss to be honest on the food front - I've had excellent food and OK food there. But the staff are friendly and welcoming - if you have kids they're welcome too.
Kings Arms – PlymouthThis is a pub as oppose to a great place to eat - it's all cheap and cheerful really. It's the place to go though for some live music and good atmosphere, the beers OK too.
Millbridge Inn – PlymouthIn the centre of Plymouth this is a great place to get together with friends for a boozy lunch! The service is good, the food's fine and there's lots of it. Worth a visit.
Lorenzo – PlymouthIf you're looking for a good pint on Mutly Plain this is the place to go. The staff are the best! The atmosphere is great, always busy and always welcoming - even the locals welcome you - the food's ok but it's the beer and the atmos that get me there. There's also an acoustic music night downstairs on a thursday if you fancy some laid-back entertainment
Fortescue The – PlymouthI visit this place often. The staff are really friendly, the place is always busy and upstairs can be VERY loud. The food is very good my only complaint about it that you get too much! However they are more than happy to serve half portions. I'd advise booking in advance or, being prepared to go for a drink in one of the many bars whilst you wait for them to fit you in (which they invariably do) Give it a go!

Miners Arms The – PlymouthThe quality of the food and the hospitality at the Eastern Eye were both really fantastic. It was also amazing value for money. We went there for the first time yesterday and we are already planning our next visit! We would highly recommend this restaurant.
