Came here on the recommendation of our Airbnb host whilst on a recent visit to Beddgelert. Food was delicious. Service was spot on. Will return for sure if we are ever in the area again

Y Sgwar is one of those rare restaurants that combines high quality food with an informal and very friendly ambience. The tightly run team provide great service with the ever present owner ensuring all have the best experience. The menu is full of tempting dishes with our only challenge being to decide which to choose. All were beautifully prepared and full of flavour. We were staying nearby and enjoyed our first evening there so much, we went back for second helpings. Highly recommended.

A wonderful meal served with good service. I cannot give a higher score on value for money as eating out has become quite expensive. However, it’s fair to say that the food served was very good and we’ve certainly paid more for lower quality.

We always visit on our Welsh holiday and never disappointed. Another great meal and the service is really good. Until next year….

Superb food and the service was also matched. The team were welcoming as soon as we entered, they were very attentive, pleasant and worked well together as a team. Great value for money, we had the Sunday Lunch set menu. The food was the best we’ve had out in a long time, even though they were fully booked. We will be returning and also recommending to all of our family who visit here too. Thank you!

Our first time recommended by our daughter. The staff made us feel extremely welcolme. Service very good and food was of a high standard. We had the lamb and duck both meals out of this world. Portions were good for the price. Would highly recommend and will return again next time we are in Harlech.

Thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit. Fantastic service…smiley, kind, attentive without being all over you. Just right. The food is fantastic. The ingredients are obviously well sourced and this shows. The portion sizes are very generous (and I love my food!)…even the kids meals were enormous. Before we visited I thought that the menu looked on the expensive side but the quality of the food and the fact it’s 2025 where everything costs more goes more than some way to explaining this…eating out is pricey now but Y Sgwar is excellent value. Will definitely visit again when we’re next in the area.

A warm welcome from Efa and the team on arrival. The food was absolutely superb, and marks one of the highlights of our week on the Llyn peninsula. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. It was served on hot plates and was absolutely delicious. We loved all the different types of vegetables. Staff very friendly and service was quick.

Had a lovely evening with friends . Food was delicious and portions were very generous. We had a delightful waitress who was very attentive . Only criticism was that as the other tables left around us , staff rearranged the furniture and dragged the chairs noisily across the floor which made conversation rather tricky for 10-15mins .
