We very much enjoyed our evening in y sgwar. It was my birthday and decided to go for the early bird meal, it was delicious and everything was presented beautifully. Our compliments to the chef. The staff were 1st class very polite and and also very friendly.. thank you for my happy birthday song .... We are already planning our next visit . Thank you everyone

Whilst the atmosphere was pleasant, the lamb from the Early Bird Menu was extremely tough. We should have sent it back, but being typically British, we struggled on, hoping it would get better.......................it didn't. We both left a lot of it. We told the waitress who said she would let the chef know. This is 2nd occasion when this has happened so we will not be coming to Y Sgwar again

We visit Wales regularly for holidays and weekends away and we never miss an opportunity to book in here - never lets us down! This weekend just gone we had another wonderful meal! Food is always perfect and the staff are always so welcoming and friendly. Can’t recommend this place more!

Our family of 14 had a meal at Y Sgwar to celebrate my 80th birthday and other family birthdays. The whole process of booking and pre ordering our meal was very easy. The food was excellent and enjoyed by everyone, we had a coeliac and a vegan in our party and they were looked after extremely well. The service was attentive but not overbearing, Madison was our allocated server but all the staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We are returning to the area next year and will certainly book this first class restaurant

Fantastic food and service as always. The new tables and ambient lighting have enhanced the experience here. The Surf and Turf, Belly Pork, Chicken Supreme and Welsh lamb were fantastic as were the French Onion soup starters. For pudding we had the pavlova shared by all 4 of us because we were stuffed! The new IPA was enjoyed by the men whilst us girls stuck to the house white which was delicious. Lorraine introduced us to her new front of house Caddy who was very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. They even all came out and sang "Happy Birthday" to my sister for her birthday. Never disappointed by the food or service here and always made to feel welcome. Many thanks to Chef Dave and his team! See you again

Welcoming place, delicious food and beautiful selection of wine and other drinks. From the minute you walk in through the door you are well taken care of. Everyone is extremely welcoming and super friendly. Service is absolutely top notch! I wish I’d taken the names of everyone who served us but sadly we didn’t. All I can say all the ladies were fantastic and made us very welcome and looked after. Food is so delicious I wish we came here every day of our holiday ! Between me being Vegan and my partner being lactose and gluten free, we do struggle to find somewhere to eat. No issue here though, both of us had delicious food. Wish we had space for dessert as these looked mouth watering alas we were so full from our main course we simply couldn’t. If you are in the area, love good food, good wine and a fantastic atmosphere you will be blown away. Thank you for having us.

We had a meal at Y Sgwar for an 80th birthday for three generations of our family. It was absolutely excellent, we were really well looked after, in our party we had a coeliac and a vegan and they were treated wonderfully well. The food was delicious, they service attentive and the atmosphere ideal. We will definitely return when we are in the area and highly recommend this restaurant .

On holiday staying in Tremadog and read the menu in restaurant window. Looked really good so booked. What fabulous foods and service and a lovely relaxed feel during the service. We enjoyed the meal so much we booked for the next evening and again a fabulous meal. The servers are young women who show interest in you and make pleasant conversation whilst retaining a professional approach. Over the two evenings we had three different starters and four mains. All were well presented, excellent food quality, good sized portions and beautiful vegetables which were so well cooked. We enjoyed both meals considerably and fully recommend this restaurant as a quality establishment who source high quality ingredients and cook them skilfully. Many thanks for our great holiday experience which made us want to return to this fantastic area.

We were on holiday and called here for an evening meal.The staff are so friendly and very attentive.Well the food did not disappoint either it was First class we thoroughly enjoyed our mains and desserts.We would definitely recommend Y Sgwar if you are on holiday best restaurant in the area.Thanks to all the staff for a lovely evening.

Excellent food and very friendly staff, especially as we arrived 24 hours after the actual booking, which was my fault. IPA was excellent as was all food. Only slight problem was with allergies, but it was all sorted with good humour. Diolch!
