Came here for our anniversary dinner after a rather exhausting trek up Yr Wyddfa earlier in the day. Being dairy free and having a partner who eats halal, we often struggle with choice at restaurants, but as soon as we walked in, I knew we’d made the right choice. If I could give a higher rating for service, I would - each member of staff (particularly the gentleman in charge) was extremely helpful, kind and friendly while serving, the food came out very quickly and they kindly helped me adapt so I could still enjoy a meat dish (often I just have to eat vegan). The Thai Cod was the winner of the evening for my partner and is still being discussed now! A wonderful meal, a lovely atmosphere, and very reasonably priced food given the quality of each dish - I cannot fault our experience here. Would definitely recommend to anyone :)

Our first visit after many recommendations. We had the early bird which was fantastic value. The lamb main was excellent, just needed more crumble topping on the apple crumble dessert. Service was also excellent, attentive and very friendly. Will definitely return.

Had an evening meal here with my husband on Thursday, everything was delicious. I had roast sea bass with vegetables, Hubble had cod Thai green curry, which he said was amazing, cod flaked easily as well cooked. Followed these with 3 ice cream scoops, and for me, a delicious crème brûlée. An excellent way to close a hot day!

Excellent food ,fantastic flavours,local produce used so supporting the local community,the staff are excellent,the training they have had is of a very high quality,we have used the restaurant over the past 12 months as we now live in the area and to be honest we wouldn’t go any where else,it is a “home from home “ experience,we love it,give them a go you will not regret it

Always an absolute pleasure to visit Y Sgwar. Excellent food, excellent wines and an excellent service, all at a reasonable price. If you’re in the area you should book a table, you won’t be disappointed.

The restaurant was recommended to us by friends. The atmosphere of the restaurant is calm and relaxed. The staff were attentive and unobtrusive. We had the pork daily special and were not dissapointed.

Fantastic food, that we consistently have whenever visiting this restaurant - delicious steak and the pork tenderloin special was very special. We were warmly welcomed by the maitre d and the whole experience was just perfect ... we will certainly be returning soon!

Absolutely fantastic! Food was excellent and staff were amazing. We had a rather excitable 11 month old which is always challenging but we felt incredibly welcome. Highly recommend, thank you so much for an amazing meal!

Our evening meal was outstanding. I can't stop thinking about the crispy pork belly "porchetta" and the cider & sage jus, ingenious and NOT to be missed. Also thoroughly enjoyed the herb crusted rump of Welsh lamb with dauphinoise potatoes perfectly seasoned with a hint of nutmeg. We dined at Core a few nights prior and can honestly say our meal at Y Sgwar was more memorable. HIHGLY recommended and well worth going out of your way to experience.

Our first visit - What a beautiful place with delicious food and wines! This is important to anyone who likes to eat and drink out ,top of the list for me though is how friendly and happy the staff are with their customers :-) we'll be back very soon
