Reviews in Preston

We have been about 5 times now and on each occasion the food has been superb and on several occasions the portions were so filling we couldn't finish our main course. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Would I recommend Langs you bet I would.

Stunning from start to finish, We were met by the owner (impressive) wizzing around the tables making everyone feel welcome, sat afternoon and most of the tables taken (nice to see). We ordered a selection of veg and vegan dishes and were very impressed by all of them the price was a bargin for the quality and you would be hard pushed to find better service or food anywhere, i would highly recommend and will be going back soon with fussy friends, its nice to be able to trust a place to recommend. Compliments to the chef and the lady in black.

We really enjoyed our meal at this brand new restaurant! The host Stefano looked after us very well. Good to see the place was so busy. Wish them well with this restaurant!

Tiggis preston has been about for years and unfortunately the food is in a timewarp. The English palette has moved on from the anglicised food Italian restaurants served 20 years ago. The venue is pleasant enough and service was OK. A bugbear of mine is dirty sticky menus which should be very easy to resolve!

Attended a surprise party for my in-laws' Golden Wedding celebrations and it was a fabulous day out. If I'm honest, I didn't quite know what to expect but the boat was beautifully laid out with linen-clothed tables, a bar and waiting staff and the whole event went down very well. It's a very pleasant way to spend three hours, cruising down the canal enjoying a three-course meal (soup, roast beef and Yorkshires, apple pie) and watching the world go by. The marina also has a pub where you can retire to for a drink afterwards (or even stay the night). If you're looking for a meal with a difference then I would certainly consider the Romance.

I have been a regular customer for a depressingly long time ( over 40 years ) and I am in tune with local feeling re the Fleece . It has been the social and community centre of Penwortham for over 400 years and any attempt to turn it into a " FOOD LED PUB " would destroy the essential character of the pub and ruin the hub of our community . I realise that the pub is shortly to be refurbished . In my opinion it is essential that it continues as a PUB FIRST and restaurant second . We already have more than enough restaurants in Penwortham but only one pub worthy of the name .

We have eaten at kashti about ten times . As a couple and also as part of large birthday celebrations . Never once have I or any of the people I have been with had a bad meal . The staff are friendly and always there for you . And the food is excellent . I have and would still recommend kashti to anyone who as not been . And the numerous people I have told have now visited more than once

Sirloin Pub and Restaurant – Houghton near Preston- a definite must! We booked for the restaurant at eight thirty and there were a reasonable number of diners; you can also eat in the pub and there is a meal deal so there are options to suit everyone! It is the first time we have been here and loved the restaurant dining room that had loads of character, with all the English Pub traditional features but in a modern contemporary style with a variety of diners such as couples & groups of all ages. The service was everything a good restaurant should have without being in your face or stuffy. We were immediately greeted and seated and our orders taken, with complimentary water and dipping breads provided while we waited, the menu was interesting and varied and made a change from what is usually offered which made it difficult to choose! We opted for the Poached Pears in red wine v Blacksticks blue & walnut salad, raspberry vinaigrette, which was pleasingly presented and the flavours all complimented each other which made for a nice light starter – so far so good! My husband had the Traditional breed Sirloin steak that came with roasted cherry tomatoes, field mushroom, beer battered onion rings, chunky chips & watercress, it didn’t require any additional side dishes – it was a man-size meal! I chose the Traditional breed Ribeye steak which came with the same accompaniments and a choice of sauces; the steaks were cooked to perfection with a deep level of flavour that only quality meat can have, making them the best steaks we have had in a very long time! We decided to sample the desserts to see if they also came up to our very high expectations – sampling the Toffee & Banana Crème Brulee & Brandy Snap Crisp for my husband and I had the Tiramisu with chocolate and orange ice cream – both were sensational! This was an altogether a first class meal, professionally served, beautifully presented and highly recommended. The evening didn’t stop there as we went down stairs to the well patronized pub where a female vocal artist was performing, so we stopped for the rest of the evening! What an altogether enjoyable Friday night!

I visited today with my family for a nice chill out lunch to allow my nephew to have a run around which in the end was the only positive thing going for this place. When we arrive there was no other customers therefore we went to sit outside but not only didn't receive ice nor were we offered it tut tut 25 degrees outside. Then we ordered food for a chalk board which to start only gave a choice of baguette, salad, fish , scampi, pie, curry or lasagne. 2 for £10. So from that we ordered 2 scampi, fish and a cheese baguette which did arrive quite quick but....... And a say a big but. The fish was frozen battered fish , scampi had only six small pieces on and the baguette was good but I wouldn't say it was worth £5. The waitress brought out the food and as she walked away said its busy not brought cutlery out yet so left us with food but nothing. After a couple of minutes I went back in and asked for cutlery and she told me it was outside ...... So for a customer that has never been to this establishment before was not told and they were happy to leave the food the with no cutlery. I did try to speak to the manager on departing and this information was told to her as she was cooking and the response I got was " well she' s not coming out as she's cooking and she says she doesnt have a problem with her food".I LEFT GOBSMACKED

Fabulous pub. Great service and wonderful food. We've been 3 times and had super meals. My other half is a michelin star chef so is particular, and we're yet to be disappointed. Thanks to Alex and the team. Do try it. Good reviews on Trip Adviser too.

This is a great indian restaurant, i go with my boyfriend quite regulalry and we always get great food and great service. Would definitley recommend

Really sorry, but really didn't enjoy my meal or the wine. Partner enjoyed his but we wouldn't choose to go back. We both agreed that the best things was the garlic bread with cheese. My fungi ripieni was very dry and a little burned and the pizza lacked flavour. They took 20 minutes to offer a sweet after clearing the plates away - even though my partner has ordered off the set menu. The bill was also incorrect but we were just ready to leave by this point.

I've now held 4 events at this venue, 2 wine tasting days, 1 beer tasting evening and 1 sherry & tapas night. The tapas are out of this world and make our events so special. The staff are very helpful, firendly and attentive. Great atmosphere too. if you love good food and a great atmoshpere then this is the place to eat in Preston!

Had the Graduation set menu earlier today 7 July. 5 people Could not fault it for the price. Nice surroundings, good choice on each course, food great, free glass of bubbly, friendly efficient service. Will go again next time we are in Preston. Give it a try you are to unlikely to be disappointed.

I took my wife for a surprise birthday dinner and she was thrilled. The preparation and presentation of the food was memorable. Indeed, everything about the evening - from the table linen to the toilets - was of a good standard. Fine dining at an even better price, we will certainly return. Be reassured that the Crab and Lobster do not relate to the proprietors - most welcoming!

I attended your restaurant as a member of a hen party on 30/6/2012. I found the restaurant to be a very nice establishment and the decor was lovely. The food was absolutely delicious, nicely presented and was piping hot when delivered to our tables. We had previously booked our food and didn't have to wait very long for the starters to be served after sitting down at the tables. The other coursed were delivered as soon as the previous courses were completed too. The staff were some of the best waiters and waitresses I had ever seen working, and were very very polite. Anybody looking for somewhere to have a meal will certainly do themselves justice going to TINOS!!!!!!!!!!!
