Preston in Lancashire is a cosmopolitan city located on the River Ribble and is also the home of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). Many restaurants and food pubs can be found in the city centre and its suburbs.

Hopisis

Good food, nice and cosy ambience, friendly staff and not expensive. Try the coffee there! Also has a pleasant garden for the nicotine addicts or for the shinny summer days.

I recently visited this restaurant after many recommendations from friends and family. Although the food was pleasant I was not impressed by the service. Our party of 5 were sat in the corner next to the door, which was constantly being opened by people picking up their takeaway or by the diners. Our waiter promptly came over once we were seated to take our order. The starters came within 10 minutes and I must admit the food was very good. After we had finished our starters, the table was cleared and are main courses were given to us. In both instances the waiters were quite quick, however once our main courses were served, their promptness came to an end. We had wanted to order some more naan and some rice but couldn't attract the attention of the waiter to do so. They never came over to see if our meal was alright, nor did they ask if we needed anything else. In the end we gave up and eventually managed to get someone to give us our bill. I would recommend this restaurant for the food but the service really let them down. If you're visiting this restaurant, I'd make sure you go with plenty of time on your hands!

While shopping on Saturday we fell upon Tottos, what a find! this restaurant is a gem. the food was delicious and the staff made us feel so welcome. I would definitely recommend anyone to try it, value for money, we will certainly be going to eat there again.

Had a fabulous lunch at Pond and had a Tapas duo menu great value at 2 dishes for £7, and then came again 2 days later with friends in the evening, both were fabulous, the variety on the menu is outstanding as one of us is vegan and one allergic to oranges! and i can't eat wheat, so to say we have problems eating together is an understatement, but i have to say that we shall go no further than Pond everything is fresh and they have looked after us with ease and an attentive yet approachable service which is second to none. The Pan seared lamb is delightful and the scallops in causa a dream, please put pond on your visit list its well worth it. We've booked our christmas do and are going again tomorrow.

Almost everytime I visit Preston I go to Tottos because they treat you as one of the family and food is always second to none! The cuisine is a mix of eastern European and Turkish and, as stated before, is always fantastic. But the best part is the ambience. The family open their arms and welcome you wholeheartedly and that makes for a wonderful evening. If you do find yourselves on Fleet St (right in the heart of town) pop in and try the Kleftiko. Delicious!!

There are perhaps a half-dozen truly outstanding restaurants in Preston (Duk/Pond, Sakura, and at times, Moka, So, Cafe Bar, and the Chop House), but there is one which separates itself from the crowd in terms of ambience, friendliness, and a general determination to make you feel truly welcome and appreciated.... and that is Totto's. I have sampled all that Preston has to offer over the past 3 years, eating out 1-2 times per week, but Totto's remains my first choice. Niko and has team always offer an outstanding atmosphere, always make us feel appreciated, and always provide warm, inviting, and tasty food, each and every time. The value is second-to-none in Preston. I have taken any number of visiting dignitaries from around the world to Totto's, and Niko and crew have never failed to leave a wonderful impression. Get there and support the best of Preston!

Four of us dined here on Saturday night. We had Poppadoms with chutneys to start, 2 x mixed kebabs, chicken tikka & Chicken pakora as starters, which were beautiful and very tasty. Us girls had chicken korma & tikka massala and the guys opted for the 'Aji Baji' chicken tikka special which was lovely & plentiful. For this, including rice each, 2 large naan breads to share (9inch each so too much for 1) & 2 rounds of drinks came to a £98.00. The service was very good and the waiter asked if we would like a 10 minute break before our main course was served which was much appreciated. I think the biggest let down was definitely the decor and toilets. The website is very impressive, but upon entering, not at all what we were expecting. The lovely conservatory was not open, (looked like it was used for parties only) the purple doors were a bit garish and the 'bamboo' theme a bit tacky. I remember the toilets from my visits to it's predecessor - the rose and crown pub and that was nearly 15 years ago. At the prices they are charging, it would be nice for them to at least give the main dining area and toilets an overhaul to make the dining experience even better.

My friends and I visited Totto's on a works leaving do on the 17th October 2008. It was our first time there and we certainly weren't disappointed! The staff were very hospitable and interacted very well with all their customers equally, so much so in fact that they made the experience unforgettable. Also the food and presentation was great. I will definitely be returning and will recommend Totto's to all my friends.

My family and I visited Totto's on the 18th Oct. we had a wonderful meal, the staff were very friendly and made a fuss of us. nico one of the owner's was very funny and my daughter loved it, as sometimes you go in some places and the children get very bored, but Tottos made the children very special and the kids loved it. So I would recommend this restaurant highly for quality, cost of food very good, and personality of the staff and owner's. WELL DONE we will definitely be going back in the near future.

We found the food to be very average with strange combinations. eg Chilli chicken with roast potatoes, veg and pre packed salad leaves. My mackerel was raw in the middle. My husband ordered lamb shank but got slices. The room had no atmosphere was too brightly lit and no music . We ate at 9 when we were booked in at 8.15. There did not appear to be anyone in overall charge. We have been at lunchtime and were impressed but the transition to an evening venue in our view will only work with a little more attention to detail eg Curtain off the prep areas around the waiting area. Cosy it up and forget the salad leaves with everything!!

Not recommended! I've been three times all for birthday or Christmas do's and it has failed to impress on every occasion. It has THE least inspiring menu in Preston and all of the food is bland and tasteless, apart from the pizzas which are soaked in grease! The price isn't even reasonable. The only thing they scored well on was a large slice of cake for the person celebrating their birthday. There are a hundred better places to go, Totto's can be skipped!

I eat here a lot, mainly at lunchtime as they do a terrific £3.95 for pasta/pizza. I have never had a bad experience and the host is a fantastic character and service is always pleasant and efficient. The ambience is lovely too.

My husband and I are have been using this restaurant for a few years now. We adore the warm bread and refills are provided with a smile. My husband is a meat and three veg type man but we always go back for our favourite of Moussaka and shish kebab. Both are served with rice cooked the proper way and could be a meal in itself. The salads are particularly fresh and crispy. The house white wine is perfectly palatable. The service is faultless and the sign of a good waiter is when he always remembers your favourite drinks order. We have taken friends and family here-parking is easy just around the corner, and they too, have enjoyed the simple but well cooked food. We can thoroughly recommend Tottos!.

Hi, i'm a Chinese student at Uclan. I have been to Totto's restaurant with my friend on this evening. That is my first time come to there. There is very welcome, and staff and boss both are friendly and passionate. I was ordered main food, which is MUSAKKA, my friend was ordered KLEFTICO. It's very fantastic. My friend and i also ordered Gamborohi after main food, which include king prawn, sausage and tomato. The food price of this restaurant is not expensive, moreover which has got 10% for students. Everything is fine. whatever taste, service or others. My friend and i am satisfactory. Besides, i like the fitment.

My husband, 5 year old son and I had lunch here this Sunday. Absolutely stunning. Excellent friendly service, sublime food, lovely surroundings. The beef stew and dumplings my husband had was excellent and full of flavour. I had the ham hock with lancashire cheese mash and mustard sauce - I can honestly say each mouthful was better than the last. It was amazing!!! Our son had the cheese and tomato tart from the children's menu - he loved it. The children's menu is far better than your average pub. Treating children like small adults with good appetites and a taste for interesting food. Great value too!! The only disappointment was that we did not have time to stay for pudding - I was particularly looking forward to the warm frangipan - oh well maybe next time!! We'll most definitely be back.

Visited the New Continental for Sunday lunch. It had been featured the night before in the LEP. We arrived about 1.40 to find the pub quite busy with a few remaining tables. The pubs new decor is very pleasing and modern. We got our drinks at the bar and found a table. There seemed to be only 3 people waiting on and two behind the bar. It took about 10 mins for someone to come to our table after I had been back to the bar to enquire if we placed orders there but was told someone would come to us. After some time a waiter took our order of the chicken in Garstang blue cheese sauce for my husband and I ordered the lamb cutlets on hotpot potatoes. 25 minutes later the waiter came over and apologised for the delay due to some catastrophe in the kitchen and said it wouldn't be long. Another 25 minutes later we finally got our meals and I cheekily asked for free sweets because of the 50 minute delay, and to be fair the waiter agreed. My husband declared his chicken, which came with mash, very good. However, my hotpot potatoes were decidedly on the tepid side and the lamb cutlets had been fried separately as opposed to being done with the potatoes, which personally I would have preferred. Both dishes would have been better with included veg but a dish of mixed veg would have been an extra £2.50. I dared not have my meal returned to the kitchen for fear of having to wait another 20 minutes for it to be heated up! I did point this out to the waiter when he returned for our plates though. Having ordered our free sweets, we actually got those about 15 mins later. Hubby had the strawberry baked cheesecake which he enjoyed but said was a little heavy and I had the chocolate brownie which was fab but I could have done with a little pot of the chocolate sauce which was only drizzled around the plate, as this was gorgeous - a really scrummy sweet and a must for chocolate lovers! The bill came to £24.70 which included 2 pints of fosters and a half of the strawberry draught beer which was quite expensive at £2.10 for half, but was very nice for a change. We will return to the New Conti and hopefully wont have to wait as long for our meals!
