I almost don't want to let this cat out of the bag, since so far Bavo has been something of a local secret. But the owners of Bavo put so much effort into ensuring patrons enjoy great service and atmosphere (and of course, generous helpings of fresh, tasty mediterranean/Turkish food at excellent prices) that it would be wrong not to spread the word. We love this place so much that we've started using it as an extension to our own dining room for dinner parties with family and friends. Compared to the rushed, inattentive service in more popular areas of Islington, this place is paradise - you can actually enjoy spending 2 or 3 hours having a meal. Equally perfect for romantic evenings or supper with friends, in summer the tables spill out onto the pavement and in winter it's cosy and friendly.
