Still worth a visit but my friends and I think it was better when first opened. Allow yourself lots of time as service can be slow. This is fine if the food is worth that extra wait!! Quite pricey.

We went on a Saturday Tuscany was very busy and very noisy service was excellent, the waitress pleasant and attentive and for such a busy night we did not wait long for our starter's, a excellent South African Pintonage helped the time go by. The garlic king prawn were standard offering, 3 plain prawns no adornment, the grilled goats cheese was excellent as were the scallops. The first disappointment was the Tuscany soup, which everyone agreed was remarkably like tined cream of chicken soup with the addition of a few beans, not pleasant at all. The main courses were ok, the pizza nothing exceptional, as was the chicken gorgonzola, chicken chorizo was a roasted breast sitting on a bean/wild mushroom stew, not a hint in taste or colour of any chorizio. Two opted for the stews, and both the beef and lamb were exactly that, run of the mill stews, nothing outstanding at all.

My husband, daughter and myself visited Tuscany, Whitley Bay on Monday 4 June 2007, it was our anniversary and decided to go out for a meal on the spur of the moment. I had heard some good reports about Tuscany and thought we'd give it a try. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious, not too pricey, there is an early bird menu, £8.95 for two courses or £11.95 for three, superb value for money. Staff very polite and pleasant - could not fault it at all. Go and try it for yourself, you will not be disappointed.
