I took my mother here the other week for her birthday. Very good sunday roast, I had beef. I must say I have had better though and I did expect to be impressed slightly more than I was. Expensive too. Very relaxed atmosphere in the bar, perfect for a chilled sunday afternoon. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy it but next time I will dine in the restaurant part. Get dressed up and make a night of it. I just think they could knock a pound or two of the bar menu prices then I would return for snacks. 7/10

This is the Derby Arms with the purpose-built restaurant attached in Treales, near Kirkham (there's at least one more in the Fylde at Inskip). Anyway, we ate in the bar, not the restaurant, but were suitably impressed. It's not the usual bar snacks but I think a scaled down version of what's on offer in the main dining room so you've got much more choice than the usual jacket potatoes and sandwiches. But the real stand-out for me was the service. We were asked by the (foreign) waiter if we were enjoying our meal and all-in-all the staff were very attentive. On the rare occasions you get good service in this country, it just underlines how shoddy it can be the rest of the time. Recommended if you want decent food without the formality of a restaurant environment or the banality of a chain pub.

My parents had their Silver Wedding Anniversary meal here and The Derby Arms, well, what can i say, apart from a huge thank you. They went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect and even welcomed the special requests we had. The food was excellent, plenty of it and very well presented. Most definitely exceeding our expectations. The service was always with a smile, adding good feeling to the ambience and the cost was modest, considering everything that was arranged. The surroundings were perfect and my parents couldn't have asked for a better day or place. Thank you.

Superb place to have a meal or function, having done both we can highly recommend this lovely place. Excellent food and service and an extremely smart but comfortable decor, go hand in hand in making this country pub/restaurant well worth a visit. Many thanks to you all for making our Silver Wedding such a special day.
Derby Arms, The
A lovely place to either have that special meal in the restaurant or even in the bar area. The atmosphere is all that you would expect from a country pub. There is a good selection of beers on offer; all in all first class in every respect.
Derby Arms, The
A superb meal for two in this restaurant attached to a pub. We had never eaten here before but it lived up to its high reputation. Noticably the service was excellant from the young staff. Finding it could be your only problem!
Derby Arms, The
I have never had a better meal! The staff are fantastic and can't do enough to help. And this is consistent every time I go.
Derby Arms, The
Service has improved. Food consistently good - even since takeover. This is my idea of what an English country pub serving food should aspire to. Try the Robinson's Best! Steve N-w-S
