While out researching our family tree, my brother and I called in for lunch as we were curious about the place. Many, many years ago our Great Aunt and Uncle used to manage The Fir Tree House. In the bar were a lot of old photographs, and on two of them was our Great Grandfather - from the other side of our family. We had a lovely carvery lunch with plenty of fresh home cooked vegetables to choose from. The atmosphere was relaxed and informal and seemed to be popular with the older generation. We will definitely go back again.
