It is a shame there are so few reviews for this place as it is the best meal out I've had for quite some time. The restaurant itself is perfect for couples, lots of candles, low lighting and comfortable seating - not 'canteen' style like so many Bristol restaurants these days. The kitchen is on view, which is very appealing if you wonder about hygiene and general goings-on in kitchens like I do! No Gordon Ramsey style swearing here, infact you can hardly hear them at all. The food was just delicious, I could not fault it at all. Beautifully presented and quite healthy portions too. I don't consider it pricey, between 5.00 - 7.00 for starters and 12.00 - 16.00 for mains is about the going rate these days, but in the Firehouse it really is worth every penny. Equally, the drinks are not over-priced as in many restaurants. Drinks from the bar were normal bar prices, and the wine list is very reasonable - we had a Chilean Merlot at 13.50 which was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the chefs give you a nod and a wave when you enter and leave. All in all, we had a fantastic night and will definitely be going back soon! Be advised though, it is now non-smoking throughout (the website says smoking is allowed at the bar, but this is no longer the case).

Pizzas are the main fare here, freshly made they are quite good. You are paying here for the ambience, this is the perfect location for a date that will lead on to a night out on the waterfront. Don't travel here for the food though, good house wine.
