Wanting something special to celebrate my Step-Mother's Birthday, I spotted God's Kitchen and was impressed by the pictures. Rallying family and friends we booked a table and were very pleasantly surprised by this previously unheard of restaurant. The decor was an interesting mix of both impressive and cosy, the staff friendly and engaging and the food, well cooked and incredibly tasty. All plates were polished clean, even mine and I'm a very fussy eater.
We will certainly be returning.

This restaurant has changed it's name to Gemelli's Bistro, although I am lead to believe that the owners remain the same. I am a regular visitor to Durham and decided instead of dining in the city centre as normal I would consider Gemelli's as an alternative. I was disappointed to to find that although a website existed it was not in working order. I telephoned and spoke to a polite, well spoken gentleman who advised me it would be no problem at all to E-mail me their menu to review before I made my booking. Unfortunately the menu never arrived. If they were unable to meet expectations set for such an easy task then how could I trust them to deliver on the night. I will not be going to Gemelli's because of this. Guarantees should be kept it is just a matter of good customer service. I was very disappointed indeed

Just came upon this restaurant by chance really for a Sunday lunch, and i was amazed by the fine food and great friendly service. So much so, i asked my husband to take me back for an evening meal when it was my birthday a few weeks later. Again, i was pleased with the wide ranging menu and excellent service. I've raved about this restaurant to all my family and friends, just hope they listened because its one of the finest eating places in the Durham area. I'll be back again soon.

We were looking forward to a memorable meal in pleasant surroundings, but the service was very poor and we had to wait 45 minutes to be shown to our table and then another 10 minutes before our starter arrived.
The meal certainly wasn't worth the wait - incredibly small portions and the main course was cold. Well presented food and imaginative dining room, but certainly very overpriced.

On first appearances, the restaurant is nicely designed (if not a little stiff) and the staff are all very polite and welcoming. The menu was confused and complicated within itself and seemed to be trying to be a little too sophisticated. a full A4 side of paper for the starters and another side for main courses.
When shown to our table, there was only 2 other couples dining (Tuesday night), the room was a little cold and a small fan heater had been put on the floor near our tables. The food itself was nicely presented, but again, a little over the top. Chips stacked into a square and a fillet steak which was a little rare for my liking, but was nice all the same. However, for two people, with starters main, and one drink each came to just over £60. Far too overpriced, to the point of being the reason that we would not visit again. Chester moor is a tiny village in between Durham and Chester le street, the restaurant is situated on the side of the A167 duel carriageway. With little local trade and only option to get there being to drive or get a taxi, I think you would need a lot more to want to return. Would be much nicer to see an affordable restaurant which wasn't trying to be something grander than what is actually needed.
