Just had an amazing meal here. The staff were attentive but not intrusive, the food is really superb with unexpected treats. Its the best restaurant in the North East (we've tried all of Stowell Street!). They don't use MSG and everything is freshly cooked. It has nice surroundings and a friendly atmosphere with very reasonable prices. The whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable and we'll definitely go back.

This is without doubt a hidden gem of a restaurant. The quality of the food is a lot higher than anything on Stowell Street and at a half the price! The Tempura Prawns and Dumplings are a great starter. I've never tasted or had the unique Malayan Lamb anywhere else and it is to die for. A Family run restaurant with a hardcore of regulars who love great food at a great price. Once I tried the Golden Swallow, I can't go back to Stowell Street. My favourite Chinese restaurant EVER!!! Service not the fastest, but well worth the wait!

This gem of a restaurant is tucked away on a top floor of an old building in the centre of North Shields. We were warmly greeted at the door and a table was prepared for us (they prefer to be warned of your arrival so they can be ready). A very good choice of menu. The first time we visited we ordered the set menu and although the starters were fantastic we would not have selected the main courses. So the next time we ordered separately. Ordering 4 starters (there was 4 of us) we were served with enough to share each one - the Vietnamese spring rolls were to die for. We ordered king prawn, beef, chicken and pork dishes, all tender and delicious. The service is attentive but not overpowering and they spend time with you explaining each dish - we were made to feel very special. For days afterwards I could have sat down to the same meal, very memorable and enjoyable. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone.
