The Red Leaf Restaurant is part of Glasgow's Alea Casino on Springfield Quay. With its chandeliers, spacious booths and gilt-edged mirrors, the restaurant has an opulent feel to it but despite the handsome interior, most diners will gaze out at the magnificent views across the Clyde. Head Chef Jamie Walker -- who honed his skills at the Dorchester and Mosimann's in London as well as Cameron House on Loch Lomond -- gives a twist to the traditional. Typical starters include the pan-seared sea scallops with sweet piccalilli, micro leaves and a citrus vinaigrette or the haggis bon bons with Arran mustard and whiskey dip. The sumptuous array of mains includes the seared fillet of sea bass, Leek & Rosemary crusted cannon of Lamb, or the now-renowned 8oz fillet steak which comes with hand-cut chips, onion rings, field mushrooms and Béarnaise sauce. And leave room for the Red Leaf Taster dessert, a miniature selection from the dessert menu. The restaurant is open seven days a week from 5.30pm to 11.30pm with live entertainment every Saturday. A spacious function room can cater for up to 200 and there are tribute nights on the first and last Saturday of the month.Write a Review
