Ravelston House – EdinburghWe were left standing supporting a very frail, elderly lady in an almost empty restaurant for an unacceptable amount of time before being seated. The portions were small. The meat in the steak pie was lean and tender but some sort of curry powder or cumin had been added which was not mentioned on the board or by the waitress. If I had wanted a curry I would have asked for that I certainly wouldn’t have selected this had I known. The vegetables were nice. The waitress was not personable (perhaps because the manager had had to come to seat us). I have had much better sticky toffee pudding which was overpriced at £6.25. The room was cold. Won’t be back.
Ravelston House – EdinburghLovely last minute booking for tea on Wednesday before a show at the Kings. Food was good and served quickly. Some of the chips were a bit underdone but other than that no complaints. The waitress who was on that night (didn’t get her name) was lovely and friendly. Nice wee place and we’d probably go again.
Steak and Cherry – GlasgowVisited here with my husband on Saturday evening, we enjoyed our starters, bang bang chicken and nachos, but my husbands burger was very disappointing. He had the fillet steak burger, which looked like minute steak at best, certainly not worth nearly £22. The chips were so soggy and some where uncooked. I had the SC burger which was lovely. We waited quite a while to be served, even a drinks order. Such a shame as we were looking forward to this and would have made it our regular haunt for a meal without the kids.
Steak and Cherry – GlasgowExcellent!
Ravelston House – EdinburghWe had our Golden Wedding Celebrations in the Ravelston on Saturday 26th Feb and it was so lovely with our family and friends. Our meal with all of us was really delicious and the service was very very good. Dean and all his staff done us proud all night. Allan and I stayed over in a lovely room and had a lovely breakfast in the morning. We would recommend it to anybody. Thanking you and your staff . Yours Sheena and Allan Gordon.
Ravelston House – EdinburghHad a lovely meal. Staff very attentive
Ravelston House – EdinburghFood was delicious. I had rib eye steak and my wife had steak pie. Very good value for money. Staff very friendly & efficient. However the decor is very basic and it was pretty cold - I like eating in pubs but I didn’t expect it to be quite as basic as this.
Steak and Cherry – GlasgowGreat service coupled by great food. We had steaks and they were terrific as was our experience overall at Steak n Cherry . I would certainly recommend this restaurant.
Steak and Cherry – GlasgowFood when it eventually arrived was OK, dispite pre ordering waited a while for food, had to continually prompt staff, one of the mains did not come with others, no staff member asked if we wanted a sweet order or coffee, need to sort out customers waiting to be seated door constantly open, one of my party had her coat on throughout the meal, restaurant cold
Steak and Cherry – GlasgowFantastic! Will definitely return. Couldn't fault it. Very friendly. Great service. Fab food
Steak and Cherry – GlasgowI've been going to steak n cherry for about 5+ years and each time the food and service has been excellent.
Steak and Cherry – GlasgowBeautiful setting and fantastic staff. Portion size was woefully small. Tiny skewers of kofta for starters with a few peashoots to hide the empty plate. Haggis bon bons were good but were meant to be filo parcels. Beef rib main - 3 mouthfuls of beef that was fatty and grisly Pork main arrived without the extras - bacon and apple Sticky toffee pudding was a 5mm slice of cake - again three mouthfuls if that. Really disappointing.
Ravelston House – EdinburghTook the wife for valentines dinner, lovely food, good portions. Could have done with background music. Overall a very good evening.
Ravelston House – EdinburghFood was exceptional. Both steaks were cooked to perfection. Excellent choice of cocktails and the staff were wonderful too, really helpful and polite. 10/10, would definitely recommend.
Steak and Cherry – GlasgowThree of us were at the Ravelston for lunch yesterday and we all enjoyed it very much. One of us chose a vegetarian option, one had fish and chips which was delicious and my choice was Balmoral chicken which was really tasty and the vegetables were properly cooked but not too hard which can be very tricky.
Ravelston House – EdinburghGreat service,great place,great steak.
