Food was very tasty and well presented. Portions were on the small size and quite pricey especially having to order sides of veg separately. The sweets were expensive considering the indreidients used .£10 for shortbread, chanteilly cream and strawberries. Disappointed that there was no Orkney Old Tom Rhubarb Gin on the drinks list also only Fentimans lemonade which to my mind spoils a good gin . The restaurant was very cold for the end of September so i sat with my jacket on through the meal .Would have been so much nicer if it had been warm .

Went at 7pm on Saturday night. We were placed at the entrance with me in an arch shaped seat and my husband in a chair with his back to the bar. We immediately turned the table to an angle so we could both sit in the arch seat. Sitting in the chair would have resulted in people continually waking past and that would of been annoying! Food was lovely although I had brie to start and it could of been a bit warmer. The main courses were delicious but when serving us the waiter leaned over me to give my husband his food resulting in nearly hitting me in the face with my plate. Why couldn't he just have walked around the tiny table?? The atmosphere was lovely and for our first time I thought the decor was lovely too.

We enjoyed a wonderful evening at Hamnavoe. The food was delicious, the ambience lovely, and the service was wonderful. From the warm welcome we received upon arrival through our orders, meals being served, and suggestions given for food and wine, we could not have asked for a better evening.

As Liz below Our normal haunt to be honest ... but noticing a slip in standards over past wee while Food getting served cold when place too busy A quick check before serving would help. Cramming in tables a bit is loosing the charm as gets too noisy and no privacy to chat Three times had to ask for my coffee Training staff for a more relaxed experience without repetitive requests If your looking to provide high end food experience as what suggesting on website well the above and good service skills and set up for the hotel would help But it's good to see the place busy all the same But control it!!!

Loved the food (vegetable tempura and hake etc cassoulet with tatties for me and same starter plus tortellini for my wife) and the service was excellent. I don’t normally have dessert but chose strawberries and shortbread which didn’t disappoint. A really enjoyable experience.

We could not find a fault. Relaxed, great service without being over the top and exquisite food. The dishes we enjoyed were the work of a seriously talented and committed chef. Thank you. The best meal I can remember for a very long time.

I have lunch at the Golden Lion when in Stirling and usually it is a very pleasant experience. I have to say yesterday was quite disappointing. The restaurant was busy and there seemed to be just one waitress doing most of the work. When we arrived she was complaining to another member of staff that she needed more help. She was visibly angry and upset which made us uncomfortable. Also, the cost of the food had gone up . We had fish and chips which was tasty, but the portions were quite small. Afterwards when we asked the waitress if we could have coffee she was barely civil. On top of all that we were sitting near the entrance doors which are very heavy. My husband felt obliged to help guests , some elderly, who could not manage to open the doors to get in and out. Not a good lunch experience.

Sunday Roast - Meal was lovely but portion a bit sparse. . Could have done with another potato and a bit more veg Fish & chips was great.

We enjoyed a great meal last Saturday night. No complaints from any of us re the quality and taste of the food and the staff were all lovely and attentive. Thanks guys!

We went for High Tea during Bloody Scotland and there was a great buzz about the place. I can’t recommend the High Tea highly enough but never have room for the cakes! Service excellent

Myself and my fiance went here last night for an overdue date night, we are so glad that this place was the place we choose to eat, 5star service all round from the moment we walked through the door, the environment is romantic and just amazing, the servers are amazing but to the point the food was just beyond amazing, we have eat out for years but this was the best meal we have ever had and is now our new favorite place, 5 out of 5 best steak in Glasgow for sure

It was our first visit, and we weren't disappointed. The food was amazing, as was the service, helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. Already looking forward to our next visit
