The dining room was cold - we had to keep our jackets on. The starters were lovely (I had the mushrooms, my partner had the chorizo sausage). We both had roast pork for main, which was so riddled with fat I gave up eating it. The cauliflower cheese and apple sauce were brought out without spoons to serve them. We tipped the apple sauce on and I went to the bar to ask for a spoon for the cauliflower cheese. All the other vegetables were under the meat. The roast potatoes didn’t taste like roast potatoes they tasted as though they had been fried in a deep fat fryer. We prefer to have our vegetables served separate so we can choose only the veg we like. We both had apple crumble for dessert - the custard was cold and the crumble was full of rock hard pieces. Suffice to say we will not be returning.

We went for a Mother’s Day meal with 3 of my children. The lamb was the best lamb I’ve ever had, fell apart, the vegetarian option is always amazing and top notch! The meal as a whole was 10/10 and not overpriced, we will be coming again soon. Thankyou :)

We attended on Mother’s Day & it was the perfect place to celebrate a special day & my mother really enjoyed it, as did we all. Being a vegan I was initially a little concerned that the vegan options for Sunday lunch I’d seen on the website were not on the menu, but I needn’t have worried. The chef came out twice to speak to me to ensure I had something to eat, & I must say the food was absolutely divine! It’s touches like these that make you want to return & the chef couldn’t be more helpful to accommodate what I appreciate is a minority dietary requirement. I loved the food as did my meat eating companions, tasty & fresh & the atmosphere was lovely & service was great. We will be coming back regularly, it’s great to find such a nice place to dine that can accommodate me as a vegan- thank you!

Nice food, friendly staff! However we had a table for 6pm on a Saturday evening to be told they had ran out of one of the beers, there was no Ribeye or Rump steak left, no pork or mash potatoes! Great food and good value for money though!

Lovely meal and good atmosphere. Especially liked the apple crumble. Great table service (thank you Amelia) Note that whilst you can pay by card any service charge has to be paid in cash!

We enjoyed our roast beef lunches. The portions were generous and the beef was tender and tasty. We particularly welcomed the variety of veg. The roasties were a bit underdone. The staff were all very welcoming and obliging.

Well what can I say No meal chef had collapsed and the staff never kept us informed I found this out from the people at the bar So we had to go elsewhere Pretty poor communication I’d say

Second visit at The Tilley Raven, for Valentines evening. Lovely Atmosphere and brilliant service, very friendly. Food was amazing I had the Gammon which was cooked to perfection and my partner had the Raven burger both portions were brilliantly served. Looking forward to visiting again!!

Good food and nice pub but the service was so slow. The staff just kept disappearing for ages and forgetting simple request. The one lad said there was no manager in at one point and it clearly showed. The food saved the experience

Classic Sunday roast in a quintessential English country pub. Superb food served in a friendly atmosphere. Will most certainly be back.

Lovely country pub, but a bit chilly told central heating wasn’t working but radiator was on in the gents toilet so nice and warm in there, but not in the restaurant. We ordered a Sunday roast which was served within good time and glad to say we were not disappointed very nice, followed by delicious dessert even though the custard was a bit luke warm would of preferred it be hotter but not a deal breaker and will definitely be returning.
