Food really good great atmosphere old pub with great vibes Proper boozer

We hadn't eaten at the Golden Ball for a while. So we were a little unsure what to expect. We needn't have worried! All 6 meals we ordered were excellent and great value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful too. We'll definitely return in future.

We waited nearly an hour for our food to arrive. We were very disappointed with the quality of the food as a whole.

We had a great time as a party of 10. We all enjoyed our meals and it wasn’t too busy. The only slight disappointment is we were told it would be 30 minutes for deserts after we placed the order. So we had to cancel due to having kids and a baby with us and it was getting late.

Amazing food lovely staff and service

Visiting the area and tried The Golden Ball Inn very happy with the meal which was piping hot. We both had the steak and ale pie with chips and peas. All cooked well. Service was good and staff welcoming and pleasant. I would recommend this Inn for good basic pub meals.

We dropped in on this place on the chance they had a table. We were told we couldn’t order food by dropping in, so we had to book whilst sitting outside for a table at 16:30pm at 16:20pm - it wasn’t busy. We’re unsure why we needed to do this. Staff were friendly. The food was disappointing. The burger was clearly not made from fresh mince. It tasted very much like a burger from a van you would buy from at a fun fair, shaped perfectly round as a frozen burger would be. It was laden with mayonnaise so I had to eat it with a knife and fork and there was a wait of 45 mins from ordering. On the side there was a big portion of chips.

Attended Monday Food was of a High Quality, Good portion size. Service from Staff member was excellent. will definitely be back soon!

First time visiting. Food was really good as was service considering it was early evening on a Friday. Will definitely be returning.

Good beers. Nice staff, let down by poor food, which which didn't offer value for money. I have been to the golden ball many times over 45 years but we probably wouldn't eat here again, just come in for drinks and crisps. Sad really because the food used to be really good. I assume it's a sign of the extremely hard times within the hospitality trade.

We did a 110 mile round trip from Wrexham to experience the menu and it didn’t disappoint, great slow cooked brisket and the oak smoke on the ribs was superb. Good atmosphere and pleasing decor all added to the experience. Cost wise it’s also good value ….we will be back with friends next time

First visit for breakfast, food was freshly cooked, hot and delicious! Really great quality ingredients Our server was so good and friendly but efficient All these things combined made for a brilliant experience Only downsides were, no black pudding available and the toast was half a bun instead of sliced sourdough
