Lovely food, great service, great value. We’ll be back!
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonFood was very good. Unfortunately our starters didn't come out altogether. So very disappointed. People had to wait while others were eating. Then the plates were taken away while one of our party hadn't finished. Then we were asked if we wanted dessert while people were finishing their mains ! All in all very odd evening. The atmosphere was poor, the lighting is far too bright. Chairs uncomfortable. Not cosy Bistro feel at all. Not relaxing, all staff too young and not that attentive. While the food is great. Everything else needs looking at.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonService great, lovely place, food amazing, highly recommend & would go again
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonHad a lovely meal here on Friday 3rd October 2025. Very nice restaurant and excellent service. Would come again and highly recommend.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonLovely selection of menu options with well-chosen dishes by us. The location was excellent. Echoes a previous review from a post-work business dinner, making it a consistently great choice in Skipton.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonI have been to Le Bistro many times and always been thoroughly delighted. Last Sunday was no exception. Pleasant attentive young staff and top class food. My brisket was succulent and well cooked and the red wine gravy delicious. My husbands belly pork tender and perfect crackling. The portions are generous and unfortunately we couldn't eat a sweet. For my taste the vegetables are a little undercooked. But " crisp" vegetables are infinitely better than " soggy" . Creamy potatoes and perfect roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings. It was quiet as a sunny day I think. So atmosphere not really applicable ( only us dining).
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonI had dinner twice at Le Bistro while staying in Skipton. Perhaps the fact I went back a second time says it all! The food and service were both excellent. I had different things each night and they were all great but I would especially mention the whole roast partridge which was a special that is not always on the menu. The restaurant was not very busy but hopefully a good review will help encourage more customers! I though the prices were very reasonable but then I am used to London prices.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonVisited LeBistro Des Amis during weekend in Skipton. Lovely menu and food well presented. However my wife who had ordered the steak sent it back twice. First time it was over cooked and second due to meat being tough, even struggling with a steak knife. The most disappointing aspect was it was left to junior waitress who showed no interest to deal and no sign of a manager!…disgraceful! By contrast the previous evening we ate in the Castle Inn pub. Very good food and attentive service representing good value for money. Maybe the venues should swap staff for a day or two.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonFantastic food, vibrant atmosphere, and attentive service. Perfect setting for a post-work business dinner.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonA delicious meal here again. Seafood parcel was as good as ever and my wife's Toulouse sausage was gorgeous (so I'm told). Always a great place for a pre-concert meal before popping over to the Town Hall.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonIt’s our third visit and once again we were not disappointed with either the quality of food or service. The menu for lunch has a wide choice of dishes which should suit any palate. We will be back when we visit Skipton again
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonI had booked this for my partner's birthday but what a disappointment. The restaurant was cold with other diners wearing thick tops. Our comment on this was just met with a smile from the waitress. His pint of beer, one he drinks regularly, tasted nothing like the way it should and he couldn't finish it. Likewise I could not finish my glass of wine, one of the more expensive on the list. The starters were fine but the signature dish fish parcel was mediocre, a small portion and overpriced. My steak was not medium rare but medium. The first 2 mouthfuls were pure gristle and the rest tough. As my partner was still hungry he finished my meal but it was not great. Unfortunately can't recommend this. Our pub meal the following night was so much better.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonI found my steak to be rather chewy, whereas my husband's was lovely and soft. There were too many sauces on the plate...peppercorn, garlic mushroom, salad dressing and some mayonnaise type thing (?) The service was friendly and despite their obvious inexperience, they did well. It would have been good to see more vegetarian options and sadly the beef ravioli I chose was not available.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonWhat a delightful bistro restaurant which is set in the heart of Skipton and offers a varied and tasty menu . The atmosphere was calm, the service prompt and polite but, most importantly, the food was very tasty and of superb quality. A return trip will be planned soon.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonAs always amazing food, caring staff.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonThe food was excellent, large portions and freshly cooked everything came out steaming, service was very attentive and my partner and I had a very cosy evening, we highly recommend this restaurant.
Le Bistro Des Amis – SkiptonOur first ever visit here. We expected it to be quiet for a Monday evening around 7 but the bar area was absolutely buzzing when we arrived. Staff were so friendly and there was a happy atmosphere. Service very efficient. Menu is extensive but we opted for traditional ham egg and chips and scampi and chips. Both tasted good and the portions were very decent size. Only slight gripe was that the ham is actually a thick piece of gammon which was huge but not what I expected. Decor is quirky and interesting. Would definitely consider again if we find ourselves in the area.
The Maypole – SkiptonSet Menu: 2 courses, £22; 3 courses, £27. Available Monday to Friday.
