The Thatch and Thistle – SouthportHad a great evening with the family for my mother in laws 70th birthday. The food was excellent. Will definitely be visiting again.
Lings on Kings – SouthportI think it is a lovely chippy and the food is amazing. But I think that you shouldn't put onions and mushrooms in the gravy because anyone could be allergic to it.
The Busy Bee – SouthportWe went to Southport today and as usual went to Rich's for lunch. As normal our food was excellent. Ubfortunately the front of house staff seemed more interested in clearing empty tables rather than coming to see if we wanted anything else. After waiting for approx 10 mins we got up and paid the bill. It wasn't busy so am extremely disappointef on losing out on my banana split.
Richs Ice Cream Parlour – SouthportWonderful place, superb food, very warm welcome. Would go out of our way to go back again.
The Retreat – SouthportMy friend and I visited New China City on 27th June 2014. It was very nice. All the staff were very helpful and efficient. The food provided a very good choice and the restaurant was very clean. It cost us around £27 for 2 buffets and 2 refillable drinks evening prices but ok we thought.
New China City – SouthportI've never felt so relaxed at this place. It is so amazing and the staff are wonderful.
Rueters – SouthportAfter spending the afternoon watching our Pinnochio themed politicians blabbing, I gave up and went out for Tea. Thai rice is very nice, warm, friendly and very pleasant attentive staff. Had Chicken satay skewers, good peanut sauce very tasty followed by a red curry with tiger prawns and fresh pineapple chunks with coconut rice. It was spicy, and a degree of heat, just enough to suit this curry head but not too hot as some other thai dishes can be. I followed this with a sweet pancake with coconut and ice cream. I must say I enjoyed every mouthful and left a very happy man again, cost was £29 which included a pint, fair price and worth every penny. I can recommend this venue without hesitation. Happy days !!
Thai Rice – SouthportIt was the first time we visited the Imperial Hotel, and I went with my Parent's for their 43rd Anniversary. We all thought the food, tasted real good and we would recommend it to others. Many thank for the experience. Regards Nigel.
Imperial Hotel – SouthportOut shopping in southport on Monday we decided to have a late lunch. Strolling around town we happened upon le boulevard in Cambridge walks. I had mentioned to my partner that I didn't fancy a chain restaurant or a pub, but rather something a little more homely. This fitted the bill perfectly. Although a 'restaurant' it has more of a café feel, which is no bad thing in our fast food society.I opted for home made lasagne, which was delicious and came with a generous portion of chips and salad. My partner went for the chorizo burger which was topped with a grilled red pepper and cheese. This was served with wedges and salad. He was more than happy with it.I had a pot of tea and my other half a coffee. The bill came to just under 17 pounds which was amazing value for money. The menu here is pretty extensive, even offering a roast dinner seven days a week with a choice of several meats! If you are fed up with soulless chain establishments, give this place a go. Home cooked food, friendly staff and great prices. What's not to like?
Le Boulevard – SouthportWe did not stay at the hotel but after having a meal it seems we had a very lucky escape - feel sorry for people who may have booked in for a couple of days - I would not go again if someone paid for me - food poor and the service was worse - never again.
The Vincent Hotel – SouthportHad a Fantastic evening at Lings on Kings. Can highly recommend the special buffet! Every dish was delicious and well prepared. Treated like old friends by the manageress. When the crispy duck and pancakes were served the freshly roasted duck was cut at our table, a very nice touch which we have never seen at a Chinese restaurant before. Towards the end of the evening my Mum accidentally spilled a glass of Red wine and the manageress kindly offered to have the affected top washed that evening to try and make sure that the wine did not stain it, giving her a brand new t-shirt to wear in its place for the rest of the night, and when my Mum collected it the following night it was like new - wonderful example of service going that extra mile. Thank you for giving our family a lovely evening
Lings on Kings – SouthportWe visited this restaurant on 1st march 2014 we were greeted by friendly staff and were made to feel welcome. The food was delicious, it made our trip from Blackpool well worth while. We will definitely be bac.k
Oriental Delight – SouthportWe have been going to a Chinese every week for a long time, but not any more it is Lings on Kings from now on .I would recommend going to Lings, the selection of food was the best that we have ever had. the crispy duck and the toffee apple is very hard to beat. can not wait to go again.
Lings on Kings – SouthportThis place was great in the past. On a recent return to my home town, I popped in for my homed chips and proper Welsh rarebit. What a disappointment! Home made chips are gone. Bread is cheap, thin and tasteless. Coffee tasted like water. Coleslaw tasted cheap and flavourless. Onion rings cheap, minced onion type. Toilets were grubby and full of cobwebs. I could have gone to the Vincent for a similar price. All in all, a massive waste of money. Will never go again, despite specially going for over 20 years... Get your act together Gallery Grill.
Gallery Grill – SouthportPopped in to Harpers on impulse with my mother and my wife, never having been in there before. We all had cod, chips and mushy peas. I am very picky but my meal was fantastic; lovely cod with a nice light batter, tasty chips and I never left a morsel on the plate. I left a clean plate despite thinking that I wouldn't eat it all when it arrived as it looked so much. We all enjoyed our meals and will be returning often. Many thanks Harpers!
Harpers Fish and Chips – SouthportExcellent place in southport, we went here after the nabba Britain finals and was great plenty of food and special memories from the day here would recommend!
Nando’s – SouthportThis is a seriously good restaurant. Décor to a minimum and ambiance plain and average, but food and service out of this world. It is a place where to go, eat and go home, and what you eat is generous and very reasonably priced. It would be nice if it had a bar area to chill out.
Volare – Southport
