Unfortunate Customer

Disgusting service. Treated with contempt by the host. Ignored for 15 minutes after taking our table. Only remembered to offer us drinks after serving the group that arrived ten minutes after us. I had ordered a rib eye steak for the main and was told it would come with potatoes and vegetables. My steak came and I was told my potatoes and vegetables would follow. Half an hour later I still had not received my potatoes or vegetables. The host was informed and he said "oops sorry". I was offered limoncello instead which I declined. I was then charged full price for a meal I didn't receive. Terrible experience, terrible customer service will not go there again.

Been here twice nothing to say but just fabulous from the friendly greeting at the door to the perfectly wonderful food, great service. The only suggestion I would have is make sure you book first to avoid disappointment as its only small. Will definitely be back.

Always lovely food and really friendly service. Never a bad meal and the fish and chips are just as gorgeous as the Chinese food

Been to F & B lots of times in Blackpool, which has always been privet but generally very good. Southport F & B served barely warm hot drinks on a foul cold day which were returned and replaced with hot drinks. I ordered the Chicken Pitta which was poor in quality for the money paid, which was worse than a much cheaper KFC. I have to say that I was very disappointed with F & B bearing in mind the cost of the meal was approaching £15 with a Luke warm drink.

I love The Retreat! Relaxing and inviting, the service and quality of the food are great. Very reasonably priced and good sized portions- Elaine cooks everything from fresh. Try the Sunday lunch - great value and lovely tender home roasted beef .

Tucked away in a little side street in Southport is probably one of the finest eateries in this popular seaside resort (and despite rumours to the contrary, I can confirm that the sea is out there somewhere). Although it is billed as a coffee shop, I prefer to describe it as an eatery as I believe that it is more than a mere coffee shop or café although let’s not get carried away it is perhaps not quite a restaurant. However the food served is certainly up to restaurant standards and at a fraction of restaurant prices. The beauty of a visit to Lucy’s is that if it’s just a ‘cuppa’ or a full blown meal then you will not be disappointed with the twin experience of excellent fare and a friendly welcome. ‘Her Who Must Be Fed’ and I discovered this little haven some months ago when a rather heavy shower drove us to find the nearest shelter and fortunately for us it turned out to be Lucy’s (Kismet at its best). We ordered coffee, tea bread and scones, which we enjoyed immensely. We were even more pleased when we paid the bill as our fare was classed as a ‘morning special’ and turned out to be great value. Since then our weekly day out to Southport would not be complete without a trip to Lucy’s in Anchor Street, where we have observed fellow diners enjoying everything from a sandwich to a full blown meal and it all looks and smells most appetizing. The staff are most welcoming and friendly and nothing appears to be too much trouble for them and if you wish to learn anything about the ‘Windy City’ there is a most genial gentleman waiting on tables who will be only to pleased to tell you all about it. For more information about one of Southport’s best kept secrets then why not visit the website. Oh! I nearly forgot; free Wi-Fi is also available for those who cannot bear to be without their smart phones and tablets, even when dining.

Myself and my other half went in for he first time today, 26.06.15 , they had a busy lunch time and there was only one small table left but they were very pleasant and accommodated us by letting us sit in the formal restaurant part at the back to give us more space. The Owner and staff are very friendly and very attentive to your needs by making sure they check on you regularly incase you want something which is nice, the food was really lovely, spot on. Nice place :) we are going back next weekend for an evening meal we would definitely recommend :)

My wife and I visited the Forge today on the recommendation of one of the tourist ladies....we had a fantastic lunch....I am a big fan of liver and onions and duly ordered same....the liver was the best I had tasted and I complimented the chef accordingly. The Eton mess as a dessert was out of this world......not the cheapest place in town but frankly you get what you pay for.....

We went to this resturant on sat and was totally disappointed. We sat on a table that was for 2 people and we had my son in a high chair. When the meals came my sons childs meal came on a large very hot plate so he was unable to eat this himself. The chicken burgers we ordered were really really dry. I asked to speak to the manager but they never appeared and I gave up. I won't be going here again, My son could have been injured with the plate being so hot.

Had a lovely Mothers Day Lunch, the food was fresh and beautiful .The service was very good. The only thing I think the Forge should think about is..... When I asked for a highchair/booster seat for a 2 year old, the answer was..... we don't cater for children, no child menu, found this very disappointing.

I have been visiting the Busy Bee for close on to ten years. The food has never failed to delight me, and occasionally my grandsons. I consider the Busy Bee's fish and chips to be the best I have tasted anywhere, and I travel a lot. My grandsons like the burgers or a nice chicken curry. The premises are immaculately clean the staff are really pleasant and the prices are very reasonable.

Cafe food dreadful we ordered special Welsh rarebit as the description on the menu tempted us on such a cold day. All we received were two dry cold wedges of bread with a smearing of yellow grainy paste which tasted heavily of mustard a handful of lettuce was dumped on the side no dressing offered. Revolting we will not be eating there again.
