My family had a lovely meal here on Sunday evening. We decided to book at Lings after reading the excellent reviews on Sugarvine we booked a table for 7 people plus a baby and had the £8.95 banquet. It was excellent food and great value, the owner was very friendly and made us all feel very welcome.Only down side as there was no disabled toilet for my Gran, this would not put us off going again though as thanks to the hotel round the corner, Gran was able to use their loo! Would definately recommend this for anyone looking for an excellent meal in a good cnetral location in Southport.

Absolutely disgusting experience. From the quality of the food to the managers attitude. My partner and I where looking forward to trying out the world Buffett experience as we dine in the plaza often and had never tried this, I can honestly say we will never return as the food wasn't good enough to give a dog. When we where asked about the service we said it wasn't the best .The waiter then asked if we would like to speak to a manager who then came over to the table and was very confrontational. When we asked for the bill he threw it down and walked away didn't even apologise. Absolute rip off and totally let down.

Been going here for a few years and thought it was an OK restaurant. However, went this weekend and found all the food luke warm and the spring rolls and prawn toast tasted like they had been re-heated from the previous day. When I went to the manageress and said that the food was not hot enough, she said that they "change the water in the heaters on a Friday night so the food isn't usually hot enough until 2pm on the Saturday" - they open at 11.30am and she showed no remorse for the fact that anyone eating between 11.30am and 2pm on a Saturday will be eating cold food. She offered me a bottle of water as an apology (no, I'm not joking!). The Real China needs to be very careful, there are many other restaurants around them. The food they served was extremely poor and I will not be going there again. Sorry Real China, but if you had only appeared remorseful for the awful food me and my family had eaten, I may have given you a second chance, but you didn't care - good luck, you'll need it!!

didnt have good experience were not told on arrival we could not order from live bar until 3pm if we had been informed we would have returned at 3 we noticed that another customer had had the chefs make him pizza from live bar so dont understand that my husband got some chicken tikka masala from buffet but very little chicken in sauce left we asked chefs if they would be replenishing same they said yes they were making it as we spoke still had not been replenished some time later we gave up waiting and left a shame because it was the nicest food available from buffet

The Westminster Tea Rooms are lovely to visit for Afternoon tea they have a few different afternoon teas to choose from, I have tried them all and would recommend all of them. The decoe of the tea rooms is very traditional with the white linen tablecloths that are spotless. This is a must to visit if you are in the area

I met the head chef two weeks ago in a super bar called The Inn Beer shop. Thus Norma and I visited Lings last week. Our meal was superb. So much so we re-visited last night( Monday). Once again the food was of a very high standard. The restaurant is immaculate and I liked the ' ambience' very much. Lings will be a regular ' eating place for us from now onwards. We chatted to Ling ( owner) and she is a lovely person. We share a love of cats. Do visit Lings the food will not disappoint you. John

.We were very kindly given a Groupon voucher by our Son and Daughter in law for a 5 course taster menu at The Dining Rooms. What a delightful evening, we cannot praise this establishment highly enough. The restaurant, the staff the ambience and the food were fantastic and to top it all there was a guy playing guitar and singing which really added to the atmosphere. We really enjoyed the night and our sincere compliments to the Chef who offers such delightful food. We could not be critical in any way - it was a wonderful experience and we shall certainly be returning VERY SOON. Thank you.

We have been visiting this restaurant regularly since it opened at the beginning of the year. The food is simply beyond compare - it is fresh, it is healthy, it is delicious, it varies every time we visit, it includes many different cuisines and it is prepared to the highest quality. I imagine this would be a vegetarian's heaven also as the salads and vegetable dishes are superb as well. The staff (from the chefs to the waiters to the owner, Ben) are all extremely polite and helpful and welcoming. You must visit this restaurant - you are denying your taste buds the time of their life if you don't!!

April 2013. Just visited with my family, food was disgusting, greasy, cold, the rice was under cooked and hard, the vermicelli was cold and under cooked, greasy prawn toast (if you can call it this, as it just tasted of bread soaked in oil. Yuk ) Meat for duck pancakes is pork !!!!! shredded in tiny dust like pieces. desserts were bad, cubes of jelly, ice cream (already in bowls) in freezer, marshmallows cut in half, mashed gateaux, tinned fruit !!!! the only fresh fruit on offer was grapes. Price was cheap, so I suppose you get what you pay for and it is true for this eating place Sorry doesn't deserve to be called a restaurant), we are appalled that food in this place is allowed to be served. We will not ever go here or recommend ever, should you decide to eat Chinese food please consider going to any other place but here. This view is of our opinion.

Had heard good reviews and brother decided to book for 6 of us last Sat evening. Being within an easy walk from the station was an added bonus for my Mum. Terrific immediate ambience when we arrived. Great attentive staff and wonderful food. Great menu - I think that restaurants that have extensive menus fall foul of trying to present too much. This menu offered something for all and made selection relatively easy. All of us chose excellent starters and mains. We'll certainly be back, next time with the wife - I'm sure she'll be as equally appreciative as we all were! Mark 5Mar12

My wife and I visited Forge Brasserie today 02/03/2012 to celebrate my wife's birthday and our anniversary. We have been to this restaurant before and were not disappointed. Tara who served us was charming, there when we needed her and invisible when we didn't. The food was excellent as it was on our last visit.

I recently stayed in Southport for three nights and went to Lings on Kings. The food and service was fantastic and I mean fantastic! The spare ribs were the best I have ever had; I just wish the Chinese restaurant where we live was as good. We had a good selection of food and there was not one dish which was not liked. I would recommend the crispy chicken Peking style which was sensational and to finish off with, try the sticky toffee bananas - wow! Having gone on our first night staying in Southport, we decided to go back on the third and last night and we were not disappointed. I could not recommend enough. Adam J, Scotland
