Valentines day meal. Me and my partner had a really great experience for our first time visiting; food, service and atmosphere were all brilliant and could not fault it, so much so that it promoted me to write this review. Valentines Day Menu had some great choices so didnt know what to pick but we had the French Onion soup and Scallops to start which were well sized and tasted great. For mains my partner had the Chicken breast which was perfectly cooked and came with a really nice sauce and really good Dauphinoise potatoes. I had the beef wellington which was perfectly cooked, mustard was a nice touch, and came with really good chip all with a perfect sauce to coat. All in all a brilliant evening and will be visiting again.

We had another tasty meal and the service was excellent. It is no wonder we have been coming here for 50 years.

Monday lunch time. Friendly welcome, warm and comfortable. Mornay sauce with the cod was superb. Great meal served without mega wait. Lovely experience. We'll be back.

I had Sunday luch there yesaterday wirh a friend. The service was excellent with lovely friendly staff. I sadly was a bit dissapointed with my beef as it was rather tough but the vegetables were excellent. Gorgeous starter and super dessert. We had to sit in the lounge to eat which was not a problem apart that there were far to many dogs in there barkng rather a lot which spoilt it for me especially as I am not a dog lover and do not want to be surrounded by them having a meal. I definately will go again but would request to sit in the restaurant.

Lunched on9th Feb, very pleasant staff great service and food/drink good price and nice roaring fire, 10/10. And a bonus we had a phone call after leaving to say we had left the brolly, cant see many places bothering to do that. Thank You.

Once again a very good meal at the Vine. The food and the service was excellent. Definitely a great place to eat, we will definitely be going back.

Food was above average but the service whilst polite was extremely slow. Had to wave frantically to get the staff’s attention

Very pleasant as always. Nice atmosphere, warm fire, relaxed efficient staff. We had a lovely meal.

We came to the Vine for lunch for my husband’s birthday and it was fantastic. I had the mussels and they were delicious. My husband particularly enjoyed his mushroom starter with Stilton.. I tasted it and they were really tasty. Lovely place - our dog was happy curled up in the bar with us.

Sunday lunch for two. Roast beef and roast turkey. My roast beef was perfectly cooked and delicious. Good portions and selection of vegetables. Great ambiance and excellent, efficient and friendly service

Must have changed chef! Having eaten here lots of times this is the first time I was disappointed. It was a belated birthday lunch which made me not want to cause a fuss or complain on the day. I had the speciality pirk, mushroom and garlic sausages... 3 sausages no bigger than your little finger. All 3 were overcooked and tough, even burnt on 1 side. The mustard mash was hard and dry. The saving grace was the red cabbage and gravy, both delicious. My friends meals were ok, but the tandoori chicken was not tandoori. It was chicken tikka curry, with no rice even though it was very liquid with lots of sauce, served with a tiny naan bread. Her partner had ham and eggs his only complaint was the hard yolks. As ever the slow service was expected due to business being vey brisk but was very good. The drinks were top notch too. Its a shame this was such a disappointment as The vine is usually amazing. Lets hope it improves for my next visit.

Ambience and food was absolutely lovely, couldn’t fault it at all and would definitely recommend. The only disappointment was the service - arrived for 12.30 when the table was booked, and was asked what we wanted to drink within a couple of minutes but as one of the party was absent from the table, we asked if they could come back. Unfortunately it was 45 mins before we were then asked what drink we wanted, at the same time as our food order (we were clearly forgotten about). Whilst I appreciate the staff were busy, it was no excuse sadly.

Lovely meal by a warm fire.. perfect for cold winter evening. Highly recommend the game pie!

A warm welcome, cosy fire on a cold day and a problem was quickly resolved. Delicious food, would visit again.

Excellent food freshly cooked, friendly staff ,wonderful atmosphere

Second time of coming boy the vine and overall experience was good, however some training is needed with staff. We had to ask for our accompanying veg after waiting some time . This was noted by others in the restraunt. Causing negative comments from them. I write this to help you improve not to just criticise. We like the Vine locality and atmosphere.
