Had Sunday lunch at The Vine recently excellent food and service

Good food, once again. V pleasant place to eat and drink. Service a bit slower than normal but that's due to Covid restrictions.

Enjoyed a splendid meal here yesterday. Four of us all settled for the Set Lunch menu and it was extraordinarily good for a very reasonably priced meal.. The pork and chicken particularly were excellent. The staff are professional and helpful and not at all 'pushy!' We had hoped to sit in the delightful gardens but the cold weather meant we were seated in the dining room, which is very cozy. Good to see that The Vine is back in business. We do hope they have a very successful summer, they deserve to do well.

The Vine still as rustic charm, a very varied menu to suit all. Me and a friend first meal catch up since lockdown, and was looking for a light lunch menu? Although the set meal was reasonable so we choose the 2 course for £13.95, I had butterflied garlic chicken, very moist and tasty, French fries and a divinely dressed salad, which I really enjoyed. My friend went for the belly pork with all the trimmings she truly enjoyed it. The desserts were also yummy chocolate & pear sponge with custard was my friends choice, I went for rum Raisin & cranberry cheesecake with a delicious ice cream Mmmm. When we were given the dessert menu and the reverse side was The Lunch Menu!!!!!! With an Aray of lighter options!! . We weren’t hurried and allowed to chat over the delicious coffee. Definitely visit again but next time please show us all menus so we can make our preferred choice!!! Thank you

Revisited The Vine last weekend after all the lockdowns and pleased to say that the food is still as good as ever. Drinks and food arrived on time, could not fault the place. Will certainly visit again soon.

The vine is a fab place to eat for a nice relaxed meal, really good fresh, tasty, local produce We usually have a couple of awkward customers in our gang, no weat, dairy etc, they are always happy to adjust things to suit It's the first place we wanted to go as a family after lockdown

I recently went to The Vine with my Dad for Father's Day (on the Sat night though). We also took my dog Bobby who was made very welcome by the staff and other guests in the pub. This pub has lovely memories for me because my parents used to bring me here as a child (more than 35 years ago) where would sit out side, enjoy the atmosphere and watch the animals potter around. These days I make a point to visit this pub, with my family when we are visiting my Dad because the food is so good! The menu seems to appeal to all tastes and the quality of the ingredients is high. This time I had the partridge dish and my Dad had the Barbary Duck dish. The desserts were also delicious.

The meals were very nice both my wife an I really enjoyed what we had. My only gripe was the meal I had from the specials, I chose the venison which was cooked great but I thought very over priced at nearly £17 for a piece of venison 4 boiled potatoes with chorizo and a single grilled tomato.

Nice to see a return to more people in both the garden area and inside. Four of us enjoyed the mains & deserts. Large portions for mains. Been a while since we visited but was just as good as we remembered.

Had lunch at the Vine on the 8th June, three adults and a toddler. Very nice food would certainly go there again. Service good, pleasant staff.

Booked for lunch 03/06/2021 2 people and a dog. Could not fault staff or food but sadly ordered a pint of Speckled Hen and a pint of Wainwrights but both tasted of chemicals and were sent back and were told pipes had been cleaned 3 days earlier so not chemicals. We were one of the first customers and the only other thought was that they had not drawn enough or any beer through the pipes prior to serving. We have visited before whilst working in the area and are back again working for 3 months but sadly were not impressed. Janet Musson

Had a very pleasant birthday lunch here for my husband. Most customers were outside in the lovely weather so had the place to ourselves for a while. Crisp linen on the tables, lovely waitress, very helpful. Food was fine. Have no complaints. Thank you.

Lovely atmosphere with very friendly and efficient service. The food was beautiful cooked and served in good time. Covid restrictions were adhered to perfectly. We felt safe and welcomed from the moment we got there. We will definitely be coming back.

My wife and I had lunch in the garden ordering venison burger and wild boar pie. We both enjoyed our meals and the waiter service was good in spite of being busy. However, I did find the potato wedges a bit too greasy for my liking. Hope to see this improvement in my next visit.

We were very happy to be able to visit The Vine again and we were not disappointed. Lovely hot food & attentive service without being over the top or feeling rushed. Can't wait to visit again.
